A Thank you note! and the joke of the Day!
Joke of the day. The MIA security-staff, don't know where the M.I.A is!!!!!!
So I had to be at the M.I.A for a meeting last Saturday.
And this is what happened.
Me. Excuse me sir, I’m here for the DTFF general meeting, at the M.I.A main auditorium. Can you help me get there?
Security Staff: *_* blank stare! AAAAHHH! Sir! I think the meeting is over!
Me: No way! It just can’t be over!
Then pulled out my mobile phone from my pocket, and show him the last email I had received from the committee , indicating the time and date to be (20th of Oct between 7 to 8 PM)!
Security Staff: OK, you see the tent over there?
Me: Yeah what about it?
Security Staff: OK go there. The Meeting is somewhere in open space, behind that tent!
Me: YEEEY! At least!!! Thank you so much.
Security Staff: you are welcome!
Me: runs towards the tent and I’m already sweating!
Me: Arrives at the tent.
Me. Almost had a heart attack! Because the tent was actually nothing but temporary step-up for family day activities!!
Now I was standing on the other side of the Museum’s park and half z mile!! From main building. Sweaty, tired, angry!!! and about to beat up somebody!
So feeling hopeless and very disappointed, I decided to walk my way back to the main M.I.A entrance, and that’s when I finally found my SAVIOR!!! Yes!! One of the “dressed in Qatari outfits” lads outside the gate, hearing my agonizing story, he was nice enough to walk me all the way to where the meeting had already started 15 minutes ago!
Thank you Ali Al-Hamadi! You are my SAVIOR!
See tcom, I said it is not unusual...:P
you asked the wrong person.
That email clearly states that the main entrance will not be open and to enter through the Education Wing, situated on the right side of the main entrance. You have to go through the bridge that has a roof and is situated on the ground level.
Poor security guys are mainly outsourced by Group 4, so obviously their duty changes every day from one location to another.
Why your meeting is at MIA? it should be rather at diplomatic club!
or someone at the lobby.
Chances are, the guard didn't understand you (language/communication barrier) which is the case 'all the time'.
Unusual!! Locally unusual!
If only you had read and digested the email!
Yes...and that is unusual, how exactly?
funny in angry mode :-/
Lols britey !
:)
But remember to thank his mother . She is very sweet and called Umm Ali :O)
lolz .. Lucky you to have a savoir
Alas, all thanks to Mr. Ali !
We still have people like Mr. Ali in this planet.
