SPITTING

I have been here in Doha for almost a year now and everywhere i go, I inevitably notice some people draw this prolonged GUTTURAL sound deep from their throat just like a lion warning his enemy,(no matter what they do, who they are with, and where they are) finally collecting a well amount of slimy unwanted ounce of GOD knows how filthy human spit...then dispose it on the floor or earth as easy as that with amazing speed like nobody cares...I know it's normal for some people here...but sometimes it's just doesn't seem okay with me.

you should go to china. Think i million times the population and much much more crowded. Yeah it's gross. I guess hawking and spitting is not apart of many cultures' basic ettiquette.

Everywhere you go you see it be at corniche, city center parking, Vegetable Market, on the pavements etc. What i have noticed here when a new law comes on a type of violation, you will notice that law being violated more often for example, when you are at Traffic signal look around you, and you will see so many drivers talking on the Mobile Phone while driving, Car door opening and drivers spiting their throat load right on the road, etc..

It disguests me, the other day on D'Ring Road, i seen the car right in front of me spitting non stop by opening the car door while in the traffic jam, what was worst for me was once a driver spat out while driving and that flew right on my right side wind screen... Yeeks..

The law is not at all enforced strictly here, I don't know when will people realize. Anyway I am just one from the crowd who cant do much about it. I think its just a real unhygienic bad habit where a few people think that streets are their toilets.

that states the 'spitters' face a fine of 200 Riyals. Can't see it happening though.

It is a dirty habit. Makes me shudder.

My thoughts are my own, but I doubt my Mum would agree with some of them.
