Single life in Qatar??

Hey boys and girls

I was thinking about living in Qatar and was wondering whether this could be fun.

There suposingly will be many nice things to do which I like BUT I read in this forum that alcohol seems to be a problem. Furthermore I read a little through wikipedia...

My questions (or areas of concern) are:

1) Compared to western nightlife, is there something up down there?

(western nightlife= party, flirting, drinking)

2) How is the single life?

3) Is there a large expat community? If yes, whats the average age?

Please dont get me wrong, I am not a sex addicted alcoholic but I dont want to stop living just because I would be in an other country.

Thx for your answers

Cheers

Andre

1. U can drink, flirt and party.

2. The single life is pretty much like anywhere else (sucks! lol)

3. There is a HUGE expat community. Heck, out of the entire population there's only 200,000 Qataris! So 80% is expats, large enough ?

gm tamumech - lol i was just telling that kid to grow up, doesnt mean if ya dont have something you are used to where you come fr ya just stop livin??hey there is more tolife than that. oh uh you comin over in aug??darnit aug sept is the hottest here in doha, heck i arrived in sept too and man was it hot and not to mention humid.yes actually doha can get pretty boring for bachelors/singles that is why we try to keep busy with activities and friends , make the most of it basically., i reckon if ya have lotsa friends it'll help tremendously. maybe some single/bachelor should give his point of view in this as i am here with my DS & DH and i dont seem to have enough time as i am always 'busy busy busy'(too many things to do for us here.....lol)gl tamu
