Scots in Qatar

Hi folks, been here for a few weeks now, met a lot of good people, however so far I haven't met many fellow Scots! (obviously all scared of the sun and what it might do, we don't see it much back home)

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone on the forum from Scotland was interested in meeting up so that we can moan about how much we miss things like rain, potato scones, Irn Bru, Tennents etc! Or alternatively we could just have a few beers and a laugh.....

Cheers

Iain

Scotland is a beautiful country in the north. Food is to their tastes not mine but so it is with most countries.

I love visiting Scotland. Haggis and chips with a can of Irn Bru and a fried Mars Bar to follow. Why can't we get that in England?

Aah the good old deep fried Mars bar, right up there with the deep fried pizza in terms of shouldn't-taste-good-but-does ness, canny beat it

Was that while ordering your fried Mars Bar Brit?

reminds me of the trips to Blackpool and the Scots getting 80p / 90p in exchange for one Scottish pound :O(

Used to hate the looks of 'what the f### is that?' that you always get in England when you hand over a Scottish note! Always followed by 'Sorry, we don't accept THOSE notes' as if I'd made them myself!

Haven't been there yet, do you need to be a member (or have a member sign you in?)

Haggis hunting season hasn't started over here yet, the haggis is an animal who is indigenous to Scotland due to its preference for low temperatures and lots of rain.

Welcome. There are quite a few Scots here. Suggest you pay a visit to the Rugby Club.

By, the way, has the Haggis Hunting season started yet ?
