Qhris,

MTV!? What the hell is that?!

O_o

Man, we are not forced to swallow what the bigbrother attempts to condition us to!

I feel sorry for those who are aware of their individual and personal preference and are stuck in countries, where they are left with little option.

That’s why I said, man get out of here before it’s too late ;)

Thanks for sticking my name onto your agenda, because that wasn't what I was saying.

Interestingly, THEY don't respect YOU though.

MTV, the only music channel I can receive, plays Rhianna/Gagaing tripe all day long.

Where, exactly, are they addressing MY musical needs?

Rappers flashing their bling, grinding on hoes. Plastic women shouting 'freedom!' over a keyboard dance beat some 12 year old made in his bedroom?

It's nice that you respect all tastes, but oddly, the people running the channels do not respect yours.

Instead of being given guitar laden, well thought out pieces of music, we are being asked to dumb down for the masses.

MTV needs to put the 'music' back into its name.

Qhris,

Why pick on a kid that became billionaire when there is so much other trash playing in this world!

The world of music is flooded with trash and we do not need to listen to it all.

Like in any other market, there are segments!!! Bieber is for simple minds ;)

Your world / your taste / your preferences, as much as you think, do not represent a single unique global standard.

My point is, you don’t have to listen to what you consider trash, as there are many other millions of people who probably don’t agree with you!

So let’s not be pompous and think that just because I listen to Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, etc, I do not expect that the entire world will share my taste!

And as for Heavy Metal scene, any petrodollar / religious conservative society will be incompatible... Move back to London or any big western city (where the inspirational evil is), you might find what you are looking for.

S.Lam,

"MAN the dead desert is the atmosphere to creat the best heavy music ever.."

LOL... sure, that's why we are flooded with talent here, particularly when it come to "heavy music"... wake up before you get to old and if you do have talent, I strongly recommend you get exposed to your scene!

;)

I know I know!

It was a hypothetical situation, and yes, he will be forgotten soon.

It was just a soul-searching question.....

FYI, Justin Beiber would never make a sensible music, give him another year or 2 and he will be another has-been!

By anonymous• 25 Oct 2010 11:10

Okay here is a question; what if Justin Beiber, at 20, his balls dropped and he started making credible music?

Would you forgive his former transgressions?

If he started a band as good as Iron Maiden, or Floyd, or started knocking out riffs....would you forgive the 'Baby baby' bullsh*it?....

I played a few songs to my kids - even threw in a couple of Fleetwood Mac and they just sniggered :O(

Music today is just video or rehashing of old tunes ..

in my days

there used to be lost of metal heads in Qatar such as me

but most of them, left the country some got married and some just lost the spirits

Rock is dead. Sadly.

Not heavy I know, but I played Stairway to Heaven to a friend the other day and he got 'bored' after 3 minutes. 'This song goes on abit doesn't it?'.

My heart sank (because he was bored, and also that he is 24 and had never heard it. Living in a cave?).

God help me if I try to introduce a bit of Pink Floyd to his life.

Everyone wants a 3 minute 'thud thud thud' that they can put as a ringtone on their iphone.

No-one wants guitar riff classics any more.
