The Italian job is slops just as is Chingari at the Ramada hotel. You can get some really decent cheap Indian food in Doha; Chingari is overpriced and very bland!
it is really nice to see you here again after a long time. I guess that you are right, those two are different the Royal one got different food. Will see if I can go to the mall somehow and give it a try. I tried those resturants and all are falling under the Garden branches:
1- Electricity Street.
2- Le Mirage.
3- Al - Khour.
4- Another one also in Al-Khour
I liked the vegetarian food there, especially the Southern Tali. It has a lot of small dishes that got different types of food there, thanks for the advice and the clarification Xena :)
you in that too, I did not tried the one in the mall but tried the main branch in Le Mirage hotel near the travels agencies , .. the first floor .. I tried their Bryani and it was really the best ever .. it is called 'Haydar Abady' it is a little expensive compared with the others, but the service is really awesome, the food quality is really high ... I recommend it for the Indian food lovers, especially the hot and spicy dishes ...
I'm impressed. Is there any restaurant in Qatar you HAVEN'T been to yet?? Anyhoo, there's a new Indian restaurant at the Mall called Garden Royal and it's awsome. The ambience was lovely and the service was excellent....Xena was with me so she can vouch for this! However, I'm not sure about the food as I only had fruit salad but those of you who have a thing for Indian food should give the place a try.
thing here. I second you in that, I went back home one day .. and find some rice and Kebab there ... I ate from that cuz i was hungry but I did not like it at all .. so i asked them, from where did you bring this? It is really bad ... and the answer was 'Shater Abbas' Of course it is nothing but a name ... the quality of the food is bad and it is really too much expensive for nothing ...
I don't recommend Shatter Abbas. We went there one time, and we didn't like at all.
Although some people didn't like Biella, I love their soups (especially Wild mushroom soup - incredible) and kalamari, and the staff is so friendly. I talk about the one in The Mall. There is a new Biella in City Center, but I didn't try yet.
And I like Bennigans as well, it's a neighbourhood restaurant. I love there crab cakes and French onion soup.
Talking about neighbourhood restaurants, Applebee's is just lovely. The staff is nice and the food is delicious. For desert I would recommend the Blondies.
And long time ago we went to Al Dana Club, the food was very delicious, but the service was slow and unfriendly, but it was long time ago, so maybe it's better now.
There are only two Moroccan restaurants in Doha tangia (grand regency hotel) and tagine. Both are similar some how. Less then average if you compare them with Moroccan restaurants in Paris or London. Yet, they both have a nice ambience & they serve good couscous.
I have never tried any REAL Italian food in Doha (not like it should be).
I am not a big fan of expensive restaurants where there is nothing on the plate but decoration ;o)
(but I like food in Sheraton-esp. sea food buffet on Wednesday).
For Lebanese food, I'd go for Layali (i really love their moutabbal),
I have all kinds of favourite small Indian cuisine places, but I like Bukhara.
For Persian food- either Shebestan Palace or Shater Abbas.
I like that small Thai place in Al Nasr street for Thai Food (I've tried Thai-Chi in Villaggio, but it wasn't so amazing), though service was gr8.
I like some Arabic food from Bukhari (not the fast food in City Centre food court, the one near Industrial Area)-they have very very nice Saudi Kabseh!
What I miss in here is a decent Italian, French cuisine.
And I haven't seen in here any places with REAL Turkish food.
And it would be nice to have some restaurant with central-eastern European food (even without pork).
Btw, where do they make any decent pancakes in here? And don't tell me Crep Away!! ;o)
If you're looking for a problem, you're probably gonna find one.
the Korean Garden is i guess at the Ramada Signal on the way towards Al Sadd Signal...just as u cross the signal lights its on ur right side if i m not wrong...

The last time I ate in KG, the food was bad and I never will go there again... BTW, no one has commented on ThaiChi at Villagio... I think it is great food, but some of the stuff there is a li'l overpriced. Thai snack is good as well and value for money.
Well u can also try out places at the new Villagio, there is another Italian Joint there which is situated by the Artifical Canal like stuff made in the complex...have u been there...thats also quite decent...and there is one right in front of the Virgin Store in that same complex Villagio...its beautiful in the mornings...with some good full breakfast...and calm and serene environment with the sun-rays falling in the complex and a good sitting area with tables which have umbrella like shelters...thats good as well...

best lebanese food ( Sabah w Masa)fatteh is very very yummy :)
I love Thai snacks.....The One is really nice.

No, I don't think the places are related.
I have had a bad experience with food at Le Mirage.... The food was very different there to what I was told... and I was very disappointed.
But Bajesus took me the Garden Royal.. and it was divine... give it a try....

Nimro at the DANA club. Trendy and serves neo-asian cuisine.

"Where is the Korean
Where is the Korean Garden?
Live to Ride, and Ride to Live."

La Mer at the Ritz is fantastic.
It's expensive - my wife and I went for our anniversary, but the beef was some of the best I have had anywhere.

I find the tiramisu decent compared to other places around doha.
My best tiramisu ever was in a very small family owned Italian restaurant tucked in Montmartre-Paris.
The second best in urban café in Gran via- Madrid
Where is the Korean Garden?
Live to Ride, and Ride to Live.
One of the worst tiramisu that I have tried. The pizza is horrible and the risotto.
Don't go to The Italian Job!
where is Le Teatro?
I like Sakura and Korean Garden.
I went to that one in Villagio
lovely decor
food was fine but v. small portions
the vegtable platter...was literal... whole unchopped veggies..like your supermarket shopping!
great drinks
1.Best Italian (Le teatro)
2.Best Japanese/Korean (Korean Garden)
3.Best Lebanese (Alshami house)
4.Best Indian (Chingari/Ramada hotel)
5.Best Sushi (Sakura/Ramada Hotel)
6.Best Kebab (Shater Abbas)
7.Best Mushroom Soup (Le grill/diplomatic club)
8.Best Steak (Le veranda/ Sheraton)
9.Best café (Le Pain Quotidien /Villagio)
10.Best exotic food (The One)
11.Best tiramisu (The Italian job/Ramada Hotel)
Good Morning to you

I like the Silver cafe outside Al Sadd stadium
Why?
It has sofas u can relax on so you don't have to be too formal.
the food is good and reasonably priced
service is excellent
you can stay as long as you want
the decor is lovely
it is calm and relaxing
it has other things to do apart from eat like table football, ping pong and snooker and playstation.
