As an update to this thread. I have departed Dr. Sarah's and started using Al Sharq. My reason for leaving Dr. Sarah's is that whenever they quote me a price for any treatment, they always ended up billing me way over the amount quoted. When you add that to the fact that they are almost double the price for some treatments in the first place, I started to begin feeling ripped off. Having discussed this with colleagues I actually left the practice half way through a treatment because the price was escalating again. Al Sharq took over, and completed the treatment just as efficiently and effectively as Dr. Sarah's would have, but at less than half the price.
at scorpio:ill take note of that as i also have alot of things to redo on what the dentist has made on me.thank you very much!i hope my our insurance will cover everything again just incase the dentist will give me another set of dental crowns.
i recall a nice dentist that i had visited - Dr. susan george whose clinic used to be at the Mercure hotel junction.
Her clinic has been relocated to somewhere near the Ministry of Chamber & Commerce (the place where u go to get your translated educational certificates in arabic attested)..
I had got the treatment reimbursed by AXA after providing them the receipts. The prices are reasonable as well and I came across many patients who came to her for treatment after being to other quack dentists..
the type of treatment that you are looking for also matters.. I had something done which I dont know how to explain in medical terms but i was close to having a root canal but she saved it..
sad and a little bit disappointed with al ahli's dental service...i have had 5 crown replacement from one of the dentist there which they said was a specialist in prosthetic dentistry,i already got my 2 lower crown replacement it was awesome and 3 more on my front teeth, and i have been wearing 3 horrible looking temporary front teeth crown for 3 weeks to be exact darn!3 weeks is too much for me and this morning was the 2nd time we tried on the permanent crown and it just dont feel right, and the sad thing about it was my dentist in my own opinion was a little bit upset that i am not at all satisfied with what i am having right at that moment, but can you blame me?i am expecting that she would help me have a beautiful smile. here's the thing the first time ive seen my permanent crown they looked to short, sharp and so straight and it looked so unnatural if u know what i mean, after the first try of the permanent crown the dentist let us meet with the technician so we can tell him what we really want to happen with my crown,i remembered being precised to what i want with the techinician and here goes the 2nd apptment with the dentist:the problem now was the color of the crown compared to the rest of my tooth was too white and the size that i want wasnt granted...now i dont know, i am somehow nervous if the 3rd try will not work out and feel that my dentist will be upset just becuz i am not happy with my crown which i have paid in advance and imagine that 1 crown cost 2700qr/ea plus 6000qr for the rootcanal and other things she did to my mouth,im wondering if i can have the money back if i am not satisified with the crown and have it done somewhere else?i should have gone straight to dr.sarah but it was too late as i have started in al ahli when dr.sarah personally message me... :(
lol, timebandit, they send a LADY to extract money from the guys' pockets, and they send male-doctors to extract money from the girl's pocket.. very wise policy.. my both doctors at Sara's clinic (West Bay branch) were like movie stars or so, especially Dr. Islam... handsome, charning, smoothly talking.. you can easily forget that you are married..:)
service is good.. full attention to you, as obviously not too many patients.. sure you want to go there again and again, regardless to how much you hate dentists in general, and how lighter becomes you pocket after such visits..
Muntaza st. near Qatar Chamber of Commerce very near to C ring road. Dr. Abd elNafae ElSibaei is one of the best dentists in Doha in addition to a verty rarely found quality here; he is HONEST
i am not at all upset,it just saddens me that dr.sarah cannot attend to me as i want her to,i just made an appointment with one of the dentist in al ahli. thanks for all the insights though!
I go to Dr Thomas at Dr Sarah's and she is really good . I have significant dental issues and have spent many hours in a dental chair so I know what i am talking about. She is very gentle, very good at explaining things. I can't comment on the cost as my employer covers it.......... but I would pay for her myself if I had to
As with everything, good dentistry costs good money mate...but look at it as buying a good product that will last you a while but costs more vs. a crap product that won't last you very long & won't function the way it ought to but costs less...ask around with friends & colleagues,as to which of the above is better & more value for money & also about other well-known practices in the country...btw,the fact that a dentist's scehdule is full for the next 10 days is a good sign,so i don't see what you're upset about...a dentist that you can see tomorrow is obviously not seeing that many patients & isn't as popular right?...do the math mate! :)
just wanna know if dr.sarah was your doctor there?cuz when i made an appointment they recommend me dr.thomas but im kind of hesitant though..i tried to make an appointment with dr.sarah herself but her schedule was full til the 16th of december :(
Dr. Sarah's is my dentist. They are good, but they are also very good at extracting money out of your bank account. No problem with the service, but I will always moan about the price.
