When i first came to qatar i was so amazed how safe this place was, even if you leave your car open nothing will be lost or forgot your wallet and other important belongings it will sure come back or be returned to you.

But this afternoon i just knew of one incident where one villa (located in al naser)was forced open by group of people and took all their belongings, this is not the first time i heard of this about a month ago same thing happen also, how come this thieves are not caught? and most of the victims are filipinos???

I don't know what is happening with Qatar now it used to be a very quiet and safe place.......

Just because it's considered safe does not mean that we should be carefree and just leave cars or anything for that matter unlocked.. always better to be extra cautious all the time..

i do not like the racist comment you need to know if you're talking like that and around people you have commited a crime check yourself before you try to defamate the african culture whether their african american or plain african hatred gets people like you nowhere in life including your own......

Him, his wife and kid went on a holiday for 2 weeks. When they got home, their villa was not ransacked...it was SWIPED CLEAN...BY THE ROBBERS.

Nothing was left, even rags were taken. And their neighbors thought My boss moved out and transferred residence.

There are incidents like these in Qatar but on isolated cases. It's not reported in the media but that doesn't mean the authorities are doing nothing about it.

From what I know and believe, the police authorities and their investigation department are very good in their jobs...

Compare it with some of the other countries around the world and the answer is YES, it is a safe place to live in.

Qatar has the same safety & security issues like any other place with a burgeoning populace. Some get into the papers, some don't. Don't be lulled into a sense of security. Take the usual precautions you would normally take if you were in any other place.

Agree with linc. Qatar is small but it has many universes.

Safe is a relative term. I feel very safe with my family in our walled compound, but I would not want to live two miles over as a worker in one of the camps.

This place is still safe compared to other countries.

Why are you whining about such single incidents and trying to spread unrest between others?. Why don't you go to your home country and try to live 'peacefully'?.

Criminals and wrongdoers exist all over and will attack given the right opportunity so never should anyone be lulled into a false sense of complete security anywhere. Always take your precautions!

Qatar is a 'relatively'safer place. But being careful won't hurt anyone.
