Public beaches in qatar?

I will be moving to Qatar in May and was wondering about public beaches, are there any? If so, can we wear bathing suits ? Or is this not recommended? I can see that there are a lot of private clubs with pools with expensive membership fees. Any thoughts?

you can wear bathing suit on a public beach but its better if You dont and to avoid any problem for yourself.

If you are ok with that then Go ahead and enjoy DOha Beach LIfe.

I wear a bathing suit on a public beach all the time, if you find a quiet hidden spot its no problem but I am Australian you can't keep me out of the water

hmmmmm....bathing suits in public beaches is not recommended...it can be a problem somtimes but there are beach resorts where you can wear bathing suit without any problem.but you will have to pay a little cash for entry to the resort and can enjoy your stay with covered beach side and swimming pool with alot more facilities.and yes its allowed to jog and walk at corniche.there is no issue with that.

Not highly recommended to wear bathing suits in public beaches in Qatar. You can wear them in private pools.

there are public beaches you just need to know where to find them. We usually go up north to Fuwait. If you want to swim at the beach in Doha you will need to pay to go into one of the hotels. Yes you can wear bathing suits on the beach.
