Please, just do not call me a racist :)))
When the guy trying to cheat me in car service I know where he's from. When the guy eats pizza during the meeting by picking just toppings with his fingers - I know where he's from. When the guy burbs in his cubicle -I know where he's from. When the guys talk loudly and do not care about others in office - I know where they are from. When I meet the guy in elevator and he smells like one not taking a shower for ages - I know where he's from. When I walk with my wife and the guy stears on her - I know where he's from. When the guy does not use turning lights and drives carelessly - I know where he's from.
Please, help me to accept all that as a norm !
actually he didn't mention any race or nationality in his post. Those who react mentioning any race are the racist, because they might know someone from somewhere that is like that. But you are also a racist in a sense that you judge the whole race by smelling or looking in a few person.
NICE ONE:)
pot kettle black
This guy Khayyam seems to be spending too much time and energy on trying to stir things here. Does this website have moderators or no?
By now it's quite obvious and his nonsense should be stopped.
@gadarene: I don't agree with what you said. Its not always Asians (or) Arabs.. For the silly things you can't always point out at them... if that is the case then, Bratz are not behind...
FYI,,. check this link.

the man is talking about some gestures that he dislikes he didn`t mentionned nationalities or races.no need to talk about his wife she might be wearing black like ninja though eyes will look at her.that`s from experience.sometimes i wear abaya when going to specific places eventhough i have men eyes following me.so it doesn`t matter what you are wearing some men are assholes.i was in my previous accomodation so annoyed by large egyptian family in 3 bedrooms villa i guess they didn`t have much space inside they have to keep the kids in the street up to midnight.people parking in your private parking ,women who get served in hospitals of supermarket just because they are wearing abaya.well thanks god i know how to speak arabic and i have the urge to stop them .speaking loudly in public is so rude .and there are too many rude people here as well.i guess too many they got offended when you talked about the smelly guys hahahhhhhhhhhh they knew who you are talking about.anyway good luck with all the mess you are going to experience here and there.don`t try to get used to it just be proud you are polite ,educated and having manners.
I saw many times in my life when people talked arrogantly with me but after seeing my passport they started to treat me like I am a king. thats funny! so you think because you have a Canadian passport, therefore people would treat you like a king ? LMFAO ! why don't you try me ? huh !
...the is another form "Dating your boss". The question is is it good if you are invited by boss to have a dinner ? One of the answers - if you boss is a egyptian then do not go. My question - could this be considered as a racist response ?
I think I need to train that skills to "cut off the sences". But I love national cultures, folk music, traditions. World is a picture in different colors. The conflicts begin when one color tries to dominate and demonstrate superiority by entering into the comfort area of other colors.
You sorted things based on your steretypes. The car driving on Shamal at 60 km/h on the middle lane can cause the same risk as car driving 140. In many countries both commited the same violence - causing the risk to others.
I thing "social shortcomings" is a good definition. Thank you. And telling that they do not exist would be not true. Nobody would like when scotish guy farts in public. :))) He could do that there, but not here. The same is relevant to all. Therefore it is very annoying when specific social customs and the ways of behavior are brought on international arena. And they do not realise that some elements might be inapropriate to others. However they do not care ! And when you start to remind them - you are a racist.
@ Khayyam, rule # 1,do NOT expect anyone to take you seriously on a pulbic forum ESPECIALLY when you focus on a particluar group of people yet LIE about your own age & nationality...so why did you pick Antigua?...because it was around the top of the drop down list for 'nationality' & you were too lazy to scroll down?!?!...now let's address your claims,
1) the guy trying to cheat you in car service could be South Asian(i.e Indian, Sri Lankan,Pakistani,Bangladeshi),Filipino or Arab(Egyptian,Syrian,Palestinian,Jordanian.)
2) picking just toppings off the pizza-could apply to all of the above
3) you know who burps the maximum & most openly in my office without even realizing it? my Filipino female colleagues,i do a double take when it happens but i'm not going to start a thread about it!
4) talk loudly with no concern for others in the office-again applicable to all those mentioned in 1)
5) I've been in elevators with some white folk here & i can tell you, they REALLY needed a shower...
6) staring @ your wife-again,all mentioned in 1) plus some sleazy locals
7) driving carelessly-again all mentioned in 1) & add to that local brats(mostly in land cruisers.)
So really, can you expect NOT to be called racist???...when you are being EXACTLY that!...
One of the aspects that differentiates youngster from an older guy is the prejudices and biases held in heart. When you are younger you have friends irrespective of religion, language or culture and you are eager to extend your friendship, but when older you have a selected circle and often keep biases. This feature of brain of storing images and linking to other characterstics is an improvement to your memory but this is counter-productive.
Why not let the world be a better place, by just each one of us letting go of the prejudices each person had associated with a bad character seen?
For me I could say, I have been nearly thrown of the road by over-speeding car driven by xy nationality, or backstabbing in office politics by ab nationality, been victim of favouritsim shown to a pq nationality at office. These features of my brain have been simply disabled by me as the master programmer. Believing in One God and all His creation would simply help us erase the faulty local softwares, stored by us in our brains.
it does not matter where I am from. I might be from anywhere. Does it matter ? Do you build your relations based on my etnicity ? Then who is a racist ? I saw many times in my life when people talked arrogantly with me but after seeing my passport they started to treat me like I am a king. Can you tell me why why ? In my opinion they are more racist than anyone.
I agree with you 100 %. However when you start to group such events (your memory. experience) you see then the source is very distinctive. Are you suggesting to ignore such feature of your brain ?
I thought we were having a civilized dialogue here. Instead you start to make inappropriate comments about me and my wife. Not knowng me or my family at all. Please, note, that my original comment did not contain anything personal. At the end of this we are having very personal blame game. Well... I think I know why.
Judge and be judged. Fingers of the same hand are never the same, so how can individuals brought up in different cultures?
If you identify the cheater, the glutton, the burper, the loud-talker, the unwashed one, the starer and the bad driver; without consideration to their religion, race or nativity- I would call you a better human being and would love to know, where you are from!
There is nothing provocative in my wife's style. That's not a case at all, so please do not jump into stupid conclusions based on your stereotypes and paradygm.
i guess i know when he is from... Antigua and Barbuda... am i right ????
me and my homies were chillin’ the other day right? there was this babe, she was literally walking naked and her watermelons were practically hanging out, my homie goes like damn dawg she fine, i go like damn nigga thats the wife i have been reading about ! well i ain’t no gynecologist but i'll take a look. if you know what i mean! i appreciate the babes man!
If one man looked at your wife like you said, then all men i bet are looking!Better teach your wife how to dress properly.... I KNOW WHERE YOU ARE FROM!
Hello everybody and a blessed Ramadan to all of you.
I think we need to cut Khayyam some slack here. I personally believe that all people from different nations (e.g. Arabs, Indians/Pakistanis, Westerners, etc.) should acknowledge their social shortcomings and try to point them out to fellow citizens in order to get rid of them as much as possible. I personally get very annoyed when a fellow Arab does something that is typcial of Arabs. So it is very natural for Khayyam to be annoyed.
However, we need to be very sensitive when pointing out those shortcomings, especially to people not from our own origins. In addition, we need to remember that those other people have many pleasant social attributes. When I lived in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, I had many good Indian, Pakistani, Western, and Arabian Gulf friends who had many great cultural attributes that drew me closer to them.
This is my own perspective and, again, a blessed Ramadan to all of you.
Regards
copy paste crap
I feel someone has taken offense? Khayyam if you understood my point I didnt label you..far from it..you were asking for help in acceptance..and there is no better time in this holy month to accept others for what they are..you yourself were labelling others when you made the comparisons..therefore, in order for you to accept the norm, you need to start with yourself to see through all the labelling and finger pointing and accept that every country has good and bad. We all can express our feelings and points of view, however, if you blame the simple fact that people dont have table manners or any good upbringing by making racist remarks, you put yourself out there to be labelled yourself
well... you have already labeled me. Thank you ! Perhaps, you have the monopoly to judge others. Then, as you ordered, please, forgive me for sharing my thoughts openly. That's not allowed as I see. But please, explain the formula of co-existance to those who do not care about others. Good bye !
Khayyam, first of all..at least update ur profile...how do we know ur not insulting ur own race? :-)
Secondly, the things youve mentioned in ur msg Ive come across from a few country residents, not a single particular one. Although, the one burping in the cubicle is a big clue, speaking from my own personal experience having to face that before. Not only is it discusting, its offensive. Anyways, seeing as ur age is under 18 but ur having a wife, reveal urself to QL and prove ur not that much in the know because ur describing your own people? If you want to be sexist, racist or discriminating in any way, at least dont do it and then ask for forgiveness because your being a racist...
Oh, don't get me wrong , please ! I love you all, not just today :))) !!! And I am helping a lot of people around me and far away. I am paying for education of 2 students in Egypt and Sri Lanka. And I never been a racist. I was born in poor family and I know the struggle. What I am asking for is a simple respect everywhere (in office, in mall, in car service). You don't need to be a westerner or easterner to understand that. Ramadan Kareem to everybody !
So when will you tell us where all those guys are from? The suspense is killing me :-(
In this case you are not a racist..you just know a lot of race..:)
but it's not good to categorize people by how they behave.. All people from the same country don't behave the same..Even me,i find some of my fellowmen's behaviour strange..
Khayyam saahab, atleast today you should've learnt to forgive less mortals,.....!! where do you get such hatread? learn compassion, Dear, things will be arright with you too. :) enjoy the blessing of this holy month.
thank God, it's not me :)
bytheway, Dear, be racist enough and say what you mean, why puzzles???
When I guy come online to complain about his griviences I know where he's from .... :)
