Warwick Hotel’s Moon Deck restaurant stays true to its name, with a panoramic view of Doha from its rooftop location. The effect is made all the more beautiful at night, when the city’s lights may be fully appreciated. With comfortable seating by the poolside, and dim romantic lighting, the restaurant’s vibe is smart-casual. The simplicity of the arrangement is part of what makes the Deck’s atmosphere so appealing, allowing it to cater to all kinds of groups. This sets the mood perfectly for Moon Deck’s Wednesday barbeque and Thursday seafood themed nights, with everything from shish taouk to shrimp on offer.
Our Recommendations:
The salad bar! Although these buffets are for meat and fish lovers, there’s always room for some vegetables. With an assortment of fresh greens, stuffed eggplants and mushrooms with a variety of cheeses and bread, you have the option of making your own salad.
Barbeque Night’s tomato soup strikes just the right balance between salty and sour-sweet. In cooler breezy weather, it’s just the right thing to slurp before moving on to the meat of the meal. The smoked lamb in rice is a traditional Qatari favourite, and is well-cooked and tender, with just the right amount of smoky, rustic flavour to it. Barbeque Night’s lamb kofta and beef tenderloin steak are particularly juicy. Of the barbequed seafood, shrimp is the definite winner! For both the barbeque and seafood menus, you can pick and choose your preferred meat to have it brought fresh to your table in a matter of minutes.
Seafood Night’s pasta stall should not be missed, with homemade pasta by the restaurant’s French-Canadian/Italian chef lending scrumptious authenticity to the meal.
Median price?
For its relaxing ambience and fresh fare, Moon Deck is definitely a value-for-money pick, and something of a hidden gem at the top of this modestly sized hotel. Seafood Night’s luxurious buffet includes two mocktails along with excellent food, for just 225 QR. Wednesday’s Barbeque Night has an excellent deal of 160 QR for the buffet. Don’t miss out!
