Charlotte Potato Salad with Single Cream, Lemon and Chives

Estimated Prep Time: 20 minutes

Estimated Cooking Time: 20 minutes

In place of salad potatoes, you can use new potatoes or regular sized waxy-potatoes cut into large chunks.

Instead of chives, you can use green onion, basil, or just regular onion. If you use regular onion, chop it finely, and toss in some parsley for colour and interest.

If you used freeze-dried chives or dried parsley, definitely refrigerate the salad for a bit to give the herbs some time to rehydrate.

If you can't get single cream where you live, try Whipping Cream, Greek Yoghurt, Mayonnaise or Miracle Whip.

You can serve this right away after making, if you like your potato salad warm, or chill covered for a few hours to allow time for the flavours to marry.

:)

but the stuff from M&S over here is lower quality than in the UK... thats a fact. That Boots is not as good as it is over there, also a fact. Same for Debenhams, H&M... etc... this is not racism. It is reality. Whats the problem here?

Boots definitely has nowhere near the range that it has in the UK and the medications it carries are different to the UK - but all the other bath/shower stuff etc is exactly the same that you buy anywhere else!

I would assume the Marks and Spencers products are almost the same as they sell in their other stores worldwide - it wouldn't make sense for them to make different things to only retail here in the gulf - surely that wouldn't be cost effective for them as a company.

No, the goods are shyte in the UK and they are even more shyte here..........

from what i've seen, the quality is far from being as good as we find in the UK, and Europe in general, and this is in pretty much for any of the big european chains here in doha.

sometimes items are marked in GB Pounds as special offer, but are being sold here at a higher rate despite low wage costs, lack of tax etc. Goods must SURELY be better quality here or they would not be charging higher prices than in the UK?

I think they are all "Gulf Modified" export models.
