Maid attacks housewife

afsalm20
By afsalm20

A housemaid, who beat her sponsor’s wife with a hammer after learning that she wanted to cancel her residence visa, has been charged in the Court of First Instance with premeditated attempted murder.

According to prosecution records, the 28-year-old maid, an Indonesian, waited until the housewife was alone sleeping in her bedroom to attack her with a hammer she brought from the kitchen. She beat her with the hammer on her head, face and other parts of her body.

Alredoo, do u not make demands b4 u sign ur contract, u just call it negotiations....u chose a harsher word cause they r maids?....If u have a BF or GF or even a wife do u not speak to her during the day whilst on duty...so wht makes them so different....So u feel they should b treated like trash and enslave and take all the human rites away,,,,and o abuse them mentally, physically, sexually in some cases and they must just accept?????

Even I had this maid, and she had worked in the ME for years, who informed me of the horrible stuff some maids(including her own sister) would do to their employees who were even kind and just to them.

It's sad then to see so many people judging with such certitude and harshness that the lady of the house was in fact an animal and the maid a poor victim forced to nearly kill her, when in fact there certainly is two sides to this story!

By alredoo• 25 Mar 2013 12:38

Nowadays housemaid have too much demand and attitude..they come less to work and talk more with their boy friends...:P

But in this case...i find it a case of bullying by the maid...anyway thank god it happened in dubai :P

Even a highly venomous snake wont go after humans to bite them.

They will only bite when feel threaten or got hurt.

So if we respect their freedom to breath the same air that God provided us, then its most likely that all will be well..

@ Demeter

I once had a housemaid who apparently had an undisclosed history of mental illness....and every now and again I would find her eating her own hair and chewing on towels while talkin to herself!!! Every now and again she would start speaking out loud to herself throughout the night!!! I'm talkin about first hand experience not a story told by someone else...It's not ALWAYS instigated and it's not ALWAYS the employers fault....don't be biased cuz of where ur from.

To use a hammer to hit a person... the maid must have been put under severe stress emotionally, mentally and physically...

Canceling visa means nothing for the maids as they can easily find employment in some other country... the lady must have tortured the maid to a very high level...

Most of these stupid people think that the maid cannot hit back... just because they dont... doesnt mean they cannot...

In this incident the housemaid may be the culprit but in most of the cases, employers are. In totality, there is injustice going on and that can be curbed by making amendments to the decades-old laws that are prevalent in all of the Middle east.

it is weird because there are many other ways she could hurt the wife without killing her. I once heard of a maid that actually snibbled a sheldon in the wife's festidio.

She had to serve some justice but it was not adjourned as an attempt for murder.

She must have lost it for real.

By gene_lv• 16 Mar 2013 04:25

Do unto others what you don't want others to do unto you.

You will only get the respect that you deserve if you treat others the way you want to be respected.

Household Helpers come to work in a foreign country with the mindset of serving. But in doing so, others treated them without dignity and respect.

This is the reason why they retaliated to get even. Probably she arrived at the point of no return and the only way for her to get even is to fight back.

Definition of 'lady' from thefreedictionary.com:

"A well-mannered and considerate woman with high standards of proper behavior"....if she was ill treating the maid, dont think she can be called a lady...guess a HW is good enough for the time being.

By anonymous• 15 Mar 2013 22:47

Why do they come from their home countries if they feel that they will get a red carpet welcome with equal rights? gosh what the hell she used a hammer for the lady... :( today I read that even in Doha a housemaid used bottle to hit a little boy.... :(

and what about this funny story blaming the poor maids again..... another employer accusing her maids of allegedly stealing Dh254,971 in cash and a big quantity of gold jewellery and watches from their employer’s house and hiding them in their pillows.

Just wondering who in their right mind would keep so much money lying around and how all this money and gold would fit inside their pillows

Whatever the housemaid reason is, it is wrong in all sense of the world to hammer some one else's head. That housemaid might be telling shes been treated badly, do you think it is as bad as being hammered by her employer as well? If she have problem with her employer, theres other means to solve it, she hammers the lady while sleeping and not simply slapped her. Intention to kill is pretty obvious. Whatever reality is, whatever raison d'être, she should be punish for her grim actions.

Its easy to blindly blame the maid. God alone knows what her employers must have put her through to make her carry out this action and as always the employers come up with stupid excuses like this one to blame her

BE, If the maid used a hammer to hit on the housewife's head, its again difficult to believe that she didn't go for the kill.

One publication says "During the police interrogation, the housemaid said that she did not intend to kill the woman, but she was upset because the 33-year-old Jordanian housewife was treating her badly."

Who knows what the reality is ..

By Knight Returns• 15 Mar 2013 21:27

This story seems to be one sided. I don't think any maid would ever attack her employer if she had wished to continue working for them. On the other hand its highly probable that the maid lost her cool one day and decided to take the ultimate revenge, come what may.

Another sad story. Who are we to believe? Before we start jumping to the stereotypical conclusions, the wife says that the maid had heard that she was being shipped back and was upset.

Another paper says "The woman suffered a dislocated jaw, broken nose, and injuries to her left eye, head, back and shoulder. During the police interrogation, the housemaid said that she did not intend to kill the woman, but she was upset because the 33-year-old Jordanian housewife was treating her badly."

Whatever the reasons, sadly she attacked the woman and will be punished.

and a grim reminder of little Tala of Saudi, Raheemullah, who was murdered by the housemaid when she came to know that the family intended on sending her back. The woman in the OP however is blessed to have survived her attack, and hope the perpetrator will now get a just penance.
