London's Heathrow tops list of worst airports
Sydney : Oct, 24
London's Heathrow Airport has been voted the worst airport in the world for the second year running in a poll of 14,500 frequent fliers while Singapore's Changi was again ranked as the best.
The survey participants, all member of airport lounge programme Priority Pass, rated Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport as the world's second worst with Los Angeles International Airport coming third despite a recent $1 billion overhaul.
"A result that suggests anyone wanting a romantic break in Paris should avoid the Heathrow-Charles de Gaulle route if they don't want to kill the mood," said a statement from Priority Pass.
"Sadly, Heathrow remains firmly entrenched as the airport the world loves to hate," added Jonathan French, head of brand for Priority Pass.
Also coming in the bottom five in the online poll were Frankfurt International and Miami International airports.
One of the few major countries whose travellers did not put Heathrow at or near the bottom of the list was the United States. U.S. fliers rated Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta and New York JFK as the worst.
At the other end of the scale, the poll conducted in September among fliers from 160 countries found that Singapore Changi topped the list of the world's best airports followed by Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok.
This was the second consecutive year that these airports have come in the top two slots.
The favourite airport in Europe was Amsterdam Schiphol.
The respondents to the survey were all frequent travellers who have taken on average 17 flights in the past 12 months.

I agreed with you until I had to transit in Charles De Gaulle. CDG wins my vote for worst airport.
For Heathrow, it depends upon which terminal you're in. T5 is better now that they've sorted out the baggage problems.
oh believe me, third world countries have the worst airports!!
Pay peanuts & you get Monkeys
OMG how is Doha not the worst.....I don't think Heathrow is that bad, certainly better than Doha by a country mile...
While we're on the subject of airports, I wish they would invest in improving Doha airport. At least they could provide wireless internet. This should be essential at any airport. But the other airport in middle-east I experienced was Kuwait's. It's even worse than Doha's. Happy travelling.
For a large and very busy airport I like Beijing Capital Airport. It's brand new and is really easy to go through. Heathrow always feels too crowded and there are too many people sleeping on the seats (they occupy two or three for themselves) and there always seems to be a lot of slovenly-looking people lazing around waiting for flights. Then there are too many dingy, narrow corridors connecting terminals. Beijing airport, on the other hand, is big, doesn't feel crowded, is easy to get around, has nice shops, cafes etc and overall is efficient and business-like.
I also went through LA and would say it's too much like Heathrow. It seems Asian airports are best.
Heathrow airport is like an old bus station in my country.
Salam
Heathrow airport is one of the best airports I have frequented. Having travelled a fair bit, I can quite honestly say, the American airports are pretty rubbish. Unlike Heathrow Airport, there are only a couple of shops and they are so spread out across the airport. Saying that, Amsterdam Schipol Airport is my favourite too.
I guess we don't give damn about the stiff neck lot on our airports.. Still is the busiest Airport in the world..
