By vmco

This is to invite you all to the official site for QATAR VOLUNTEERS on FACEBOOK which has been established to:

1. Support the work of local community service organizations through the placement of volunteerism announcements and providing a database for volunteers

2. Encourage volunteerism in Qatar by creating projects that complement the work of local organizations.

We will start planning the structure and activities of our group once the number of joiners reach 50.

Please see the attachment. Feel free to forward the invitation to your friends, colleagues, and your loved ones. See you there!

Regards

Samy Hammad

Don’t take my comments in offensive way as i was not expecting that someone who is coming on this website is not aware of Qatar Living Volunteers Group... As a volunteer, work is more important to me than platform or a certain group... hopefully this will clear my point of view...

SPEED

reward you for your good deeds.

You will have our full support :) Just lets us know your future plans we will try to work together.

We play a very important role in our ability to serve the poor and needy in our area. Volunteers are those who look at life as a time for giving of themselves to benefit others.

After all our mission is same. Welcome on board...

Azilana,

Thanks for sharing the info on QLVG. I wish you all great success in what you guys do. I hope that all whom have posted in here have meant well indeed, though some of the posted comments were a bit sour.

Again, let's focus on the cause rather than the way or the source!.

everyone who made comments in this topic of yours (including me) are active members of QLVG and they meant well.

QLVG is already a known and well-established group here in QL and EVERYONE have one goal...to help those who needs help....it's no competition whatsoever.

Good luck ;-P

Guys, I never imagined posting something in here would get on some people's nerves, particularly for this kind of work. If you all feel my message shouldn't have been posted in the first please, just let me know and I will take it somewhere else.

Thanks, Azilana, for the clarification.

Xray, I am still not clear on why you're taking this competetively. If joining the QL one would calm you down, just show me where to sign. For the third time, I think what you guys are doing is great and I thing there is plenty to be done out there for all.

I never thought the group type matters until I started reading some of the comments here. I failed to make much out of DaRude's sense of humor but I am sure it's entertaining to some.

Once again, I was never aware of a group here in QL which I will support though many would also see the community on FACEBOOK is an untapped resource.

Thanks for your comment, Anyway.

VMCO.. Instead of taking the pain to form a new one, why dont you join the existing and active volunteer group in QL???

You can put in all your ideas of facebook and stuff to our QLVG head and he will review it.

Its not the group what matters. Its what we does matters I guess. So lets work together. You will be most welcome , i am sure. Pls get in touch with Speed.

Bleu: Thanks for the information. I don't think it creates a legal exposure if one decided to create a logo for an association/club on the internet. Let's take QL as an example, group of people with something in common, sharing a virtual place that's branded.

Unfortunately I was aware of the QL group. I will check it out. I will never ask people to leave one group for another. I guess there good deeds out there enough for many. I will support QL group and will continue with the FACEBOOK thing.

DaRude: The website is in the making. I was aware of a similar group here in QL, thanks for letting me know. I will sure check it out. I still see value in establishing one in FACEBOOK considering how popular it is. One last thing, my use of the phrase" Official Site" was solely intended for FACEBOOK. So it's the only site/profile for volunteers in Qatar on FACEBOOK. Will be glad to see you there.

Azilana: Yes, it's being formed. You're welcome to join

you should also know that by having your own name, logo and identity/brand you could face legal consequences since this could be considered an NGO, which requires lots of paperwork, at least 50 Qataris, and some approvals.

QL's group is just a bunch of people who met online and try to volunteer.

and why dont they have their own website???

I think you better join QL volnteers group they have more members than yours and is very much active too.

and thats not so called an official website of Qatar Volunteers its just a profile made of some social networking.
