Your fetish with the rain conjures up an old story in my mind. There was, once, in our village, an angry old man. He used to be a local chieftain and the stories of his wrathful behavior are told to this day. In his late life, it so came to pass that he lost his eyesight.
Of the many changes that he had to make in his life with no vision, one was rather laborious for his daughters in law. It was his habit to read the daily paper in its entirety, and now that he could not read, his daughers in law, three in number had to read out the newspaper aloud for him, so he could continue indulging in his hobby.
Poor things the women already had so many domestic chores to perform and reading the news, so loud as to be heard even by the passers by in the streets without, since the old man had a problem hearing as well--- was no less than a torture.
Finally, they came upon a nice trick. Every other day, while one woman would be readin the news, the other would take a bowl full of water and climb up the roof of their townhouse. From their she would sprinkle water, as if it were raining. The other two, downstairs, would go something like, "Oh, it is raining, let's take baba inside." Baba would then be hurriedly rushed into his room, while still being profusely showered by the lady above. The good thing is that baba would never ask the women to read the news inside the room. :)
Global warming....aaargh! Sounds like that conference not fixed everything yet! Not nice for all those poor delegates on expenses expecting nice sunny weather!
Yeah Fathima, I get how that can be troublesome rather than enjoyable for you! I wish the housing authorities would cater for that and just drill some drainage in your balconies.
Glad to know your Mom is enjoying, Fathima :) may her stay be very pleasant throughout.
And I just remembered, the rain drips in your home, so good thing it didn't pour. Would slanted shutters work? So the rain doesn't spoil things, and we can pray for it to pour! :) Oh I just miss a heavy downpour!
Not too much..not too little..juuuust right! Mom's enjoying the Doha winter so far. Of corse back in Sri Lanka it has been raining and pouring days on end.
