 guys/ gals...

I had visited ALISHAAN the 1st day of its opening. I waited for nearly 2 &1/2 hours before I could get my food on the table... Good I had some company and we cracked jokes to pass time..But the waiting time was horrible. And when the dishes came, I was surprised at the quantity and the size of the dishes and the prices they charge for this small quantity. Couldnt quite say about the taste as we were very hungry but felt that this is the last time we could go in there.

Moreover, there were plenty othes who were waiting to get atleast a glass of water...Some walked out and some had upset faces....faces which are normally made in case of business loss.. hahaha

Yes, there are lots of Indian restuarants and have tried all of them... But have anyone gone to this restaurant called "UNGARE". Its right near the Sana roundabout in Doha. when you drive towards the Corniche, take the right from the road which led to the old Doha club and then the first left.. Its right in the corner. If you love Sea food this is the place and all theotehr dishes are verytasty too. have a try and yu could compare Ramada Balti or Chingaree. Much cheaper than them.

Cheers and let me know if you hppen to dine in Ungaree as the ambience is too good. Its worth a try

Bob.

I went more then 3 time to Alishan, never found problem with service... Infact the resturant is hardly full any day...

What service people need Like Waiters standed on your head asking what you need next(I dont like some looking or pass close by when i eat)...People just have to call them excuse me & make a order ........

Infact at Alishaan I have observed once Philpino Waitress serve us Bill before asking for Desert, then the Captain immediately pointed mistake to Waitress & ask to rectify it..........

MAriam you just go once to ALishan...............

Platini if this restaurant is a crap, then you need not be fair to go again. but i think that you liked the food that is why you are going back. I don't know this restaurant and i want to try it. I am a big fan of Indian foods, i love Biriyani, if they serve this food , please let me know. Or if someone know a restaurant serving a deliciously made biriyani, please, be kind enough to whisper it to me. Thanks...

Alishaan ...seems as good as the guy trying to sell it...

Bugger,  at least post where it is located.  Unless you too dont knowwhere it is.

Taste wise I have found Aryaas the best Veg Indian restaurnat in Doha yet. But they too dont have good/fast service. I dont understand why these Hotels have so poor/late service as compared to the ones back home.

This is the second time within a week or so someone was claiming that Alishaan was good and he will arrange pre booking as well.

By Platini• 16 Feb 2008 17:41
Platini

totally crap..

there were scores of people... who just left in disgust.. NO service No apology... they were too busy serving their VIP guests who were present....

BUT being fare.... I might give them another try .... perhaps it was teething trouble... as they tried their very best to do some damage control.. in offering'free' dinner/lunch next time around..

They are in the Muntazah area... close to The Centre/Al Meera Co-Op...

Give them a go... Let me know if they have improved.. in service, in their quantity of food, in attention to detail.... Ali Shaan... the name is EXTRAVAGANT... they should try and live up2 it!!!

It seems that you are good logicians! ;)

I feel there is a marketing team on the prowl in QL nowadays.

If some newbie comes in and says so and so restaurant is good regarding a newly established one, it sound too good to be truthful
