Here are four kid friendly restaurants in Doha for all the family to enjoy

Having lived in Qatar all these years and raising two super active boys who find it had to sit still for more than five minutes, it’s sometimes a challenge to take them to a restaurant and expect them to sit properly, without fidgeting and without getting restless. Another problem is, sometimes, going to a restaurant and finding they don’t have a separate kids menu which can be equally frustrating.

Having done the rounds of a diverse variety of restaurants in Qatar, I have come up with a list of four kid friendly restaurants that also keep us parents happy. Read on ahead to find out more about my top 4 kid friendly restaurants in Doha.

2. 1.   Cool de Sac

Cool de Sac is the newest addition to the list of Doha’s family friendly restaurant’s. Built with the purpose of entertaining the whole family, Cool de Sac has a number of creative and interactive activities that will keep the kids busy while the parents enjoy a full-service, healthy and gourmet-style dining experience. There is a separate kids menu and the restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The best part is that Cool de Sac has an open layout so parents can keep an eye on their kids from almost every angle.

If that’s not enough, you can also host birthday parties and other events with in-house or outside catering.

1. 2.   Chef’s Garden

Chef’s Garden is a favorite with families. The restaurant prides itself on its ‘farm-to-table’ concept and is known for cooking with herbs and vegetables grown on the premises along with organic produce from local Qatari farms. The food is healthy and fresh, and the kid’s menu comes complete with exciting names that are sure to get the kids excited. A picturesque lush, green lawn overlooks the main dining room and al fresco dining on a striking terrace where parents can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner while watching the kids play in the lawn or dedicated kid’s play area, Kid Zone. Kid Zone has a soft play area and kids can enjoy other activities there as well, and staff will look after the kids (aged three and above), while parents relax and enjoy their meal, though babies and infants must have a guardian to look after them in the play area.

2. 3. Pizza Express

Pizza Express is a personal favorite because kids can become pizza chefs for the day. After donning a specially designed apron and cap, the kids are all set to make their own pizza and add their own toppings at the counter with help from the friendly staff. Kids absolutely love it, and when the pizza comes to the table, you can see the pride and joy on the kids faces. After all, they made the pizza.

Pizza Express offers a great menu selection for adults, too. There are a number of pizzas to choose from: regular, gourmet and even low calories ones. There are also pastas, risottos, appetizers, desserts and a whole lot more on offer.

1. 4.   California Tortilla

California Tortilla is a Mexican fast food restaurant that serves fresh, healthy burritos, tacos, quesadillas, salads and plenty of other menu options. It’s a great family dining restaurant, and the Al Sadd branch comes complete with a “Piñata Playhouse” playroom with slides, soft foam tiles so kids don’t get hurt and a big glass wall so parents can eat their meal and also keep an eye on the kids. Though it’s best for kids under the age of five, you will often find older kids hanging around the playroom enjoying the playhouse. There is also a table with two benches, so kids can enjoy the kid friendly menu options available at California Tortilla.
