Gyms in Doha?

Hi, i've searched the forums for this topic but couldn't really find a solid answer. I want to know what the gyms are like in Doha, and if anyone could recommend a good one. My main interests are weight lifting, so i want to know which gyms have a good free weight section. Any help will be appreciated. Also a rough guide to the costs will also be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi, there is actually an amazing free weights gym right next to Al Sadd Stadium. It it breath-taking and has everything you could need if you are interested in Body Building, although I have heard they are introducing fitness programs also. The price is about 2800 QAR for 6 months. It is definatly worth checking out.

The only accommodation towers I've seen with a very decent gym are Ezdan Towers, but you wouldn't want to live there.

The city center shopping mall has a Fitness First in it. and there are other gyms around the town.

Hey thanks for the reply, i will be arriving on the 29th, but was just trying to sort out some activities for myself. I guess il just have to wait till i get there and asses the situation for myself. The gyms in the hotels and compounds do they have a good free weight section, as i do enjoy body building, just not to a competitive level.

Brit Eng, it is mostly hotels that have gyms. Are you in Qatar yet? If so, get the "Marhaba" book, available at bookstores, they have a list of hotels and their facilities. there may be gyms outside hotels in doha, but I do not know about them.

Also, often compounds and apartment buildings have gyms free of charge for their tenants.
