Yes W Doha will serve Alcohol..with Sheesha...and DJ playins side by side..with crazy funky people all around u...is thawhat u call a dismal atmosphere???

Champagne, sheesha, DJs, spa, hair dressers - hardly new ideas in Doha. Sounds like any other 5* hotel to me.

So many comments...that means u guys wanna knw wats so different here right...The difference is that W doha aint like any other hotel...and damn sure Grand Hyatt is nothing close to W...Alcohol And Sheesha, A Champagne Bar(heard of it???anywhere???) with international DJZ playing their stuff, and guys...u can sip in some CRISTAL while smokin some flavoured Sheesha(Weesha) that uve never thought about....The WET (pool) is crazy as u can hear the music even when ure underwater...W has the latest technology which no one has(at least in Qatar).For the spa lovers, the world renown BLISS spa is here....Wanna dine at the famous Spice Market by Chef Jean Georges??W Doha is the only place for you..And for any funky hair styling, Alexander Zouari is there for u...Its no Carlton, No Seasons, its W Doha baby...and its comin soon...and this time yes...the opening dates are damn certain...So get ready to be wowed..

with so many couples and all the "fun" ensure no swapping, swinging takes places, or else we all know how that will end... lol!!!

conferences and special events I agree, but 2009 will see a lot less business traffic, less 'tourists' of those who worked here previously and need an NOC to get back in now and general turn down in the world economy. This has already been seen in room rates in 2008. (Try and book a hotel now and its impossible....)

Those rooms will be booked, even at those prices. Just like all the other 5* hotels in Doha are booked. There's the demand for it, for now at least.

I think they have serious missed the trend in hotel room charges and the way the market is going. Maybe they could offer a Credit Crunchy special for the wealthy and stupid.

but the regular timing for check-in and check-out

is 22 hours! so there should be 22 couples! Haha! lol!

In that way, we get to see W for only 90 riyals/couple!

the hotel opening (finally) sounds nice but i dont understand wat the excitement is all about!!! i prefer a nice hot home made meal and snuggling up with family on the couch over a movie!

If 10 people want to share with me, we can rent a room together and see what its like..

it will open on February 14 (just in time for Valentine's) and i checked the site, no available room until march 1 or maybe there's just some technical errors~~ Unbelievable! and its pretty expensive, room starts at around QR2000! BTW its the 2nd Starwood brand in Doha. I think there will be 5.

heard that one before march 2008, then April then July then December. Pretty unreliable hotel so far!

I believe it when I see it. This time last year they said they were going to open in March 2008!
