Hi All

I am relocating to Doha from UK

I would like to get a flava of what the life in Qatar touch and feel like.

I am a, people person, like company of friends, try anything once.

i am arriving in two weeks, any suggestions?

my advice is to get here, let yourself get settled then start thinking of going out, where to go etc, its a big change but one you wont regret :)

I have been here for two years..My advice is ride the initial storm then every thing will ok..Yes Marhaba is a Local Guide here, we also have Timeout Doha but thats more for going out stuff. So strongly reccomend Marhaba on your arrival..Good luck and welcome to the barren Penisula..

yes it is. It's a reference guide.

Mind you the map is not quite accurate, roads are getting closed for road works quicker than you'll ever imagine, without warning,sigh!

mainly malls, souq, restaurants for tea coffee or whatever, beaches on weekends or visit friends

with family better than alone, just got to drive on the wrong side of the road, possibly with a "tank" to demand the right of way!LOL

The land where the "chicks are hot (like everybody else) and where you get a warm welcome most of the year"!

I hope you get settled in pretty quick..if its your first time, be prepare your self for transition(shock) as everything here completely different to back home in the UK.

It would be easier for you if ur company provides accomodation.. rents are high here but you should be able to find something that will suit you.. you can check out the classified adds in qatar living.. many adds for accomodation.. or you can call Asmakh agents who will help you land the place u need their number is: 4374022

Best of Luck when you get here.. Really qatar is not so bad.. its actually a nice place to be...
