We apologize for the handling of the concessions as it was done by the hosting venue and completely out of our control. It was too late by the time we realized the manner in which the concessions would be handled by the hotel. Rest assured that things will be handled in-house and accordingly in the future.

Yeah and remind me to carry my own freaking water bottle next time you have an event out in the open in this heat where you sell SMALL water bottles for f'ing 20 bucks each! What a rip off for a piece of crap show paying 100 bucks to see it.

thanks snowy...I wasn't aware that the posting was so cryptic that ADULTS would not be able to figure out the party at the Marriott (a hotel that is allowed to serve alcohol to adults) was a fundraiser for a club that is yet to be built and will not have any alcohol in it as it will only be for TEENS!!

I also want to thank everyone who showed up and dealt with the heat. For those of you picking on the bands...many of them were teens who were brave enough to get on stage in front of an audience, some for the FIRST time ever. This event was geared to support the local talent ESPECIALLY the teens in our community, giving them something productive to do instead of hanging in the mall all day and to ensure we will always have talent available for future events like Dune Stock.

All of the bands showed up at 9AM that morning and were there until lunch helping with set up and sound check in the sweltering heat! Many of them had to leave and go take a final that day and were due back at the hotel by 5pm. Even the adult bands were there in the heat and many had other gigs that day as well (Philipino Independence day)

These kids worked hard for the last few weeks rehersing as well as making sure they were fully prepared for their finals. We even offered tutoring to the students to ensure good grades.

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made Friday night a success and lots of fun...especially the bands, whose genourosity and hard work are greatly appreciated.

The announcement was a little confusing but it looks to be 2 SEPARATE things.

1. they are having a party at the beach w/ alcohol, adults invivited to RAISE FUNDS to build a teen club.

2. The teen club TP2B is still in discussion stage and will strictly be 13-19 year olds no alcohol.

That's better.

and I believe this event is a one off and just to raise awareness and funds etc......I think after looking at the website adults aren't allowed to be members and not welcomed into the actual club

This is a recipe for disaster, and would seem illegal would it not to sell alchohol in public?

at all.

I used to work at night club in SA, and on Teen Nights only under 18's were allowed - not even parents were allowed in - no alcohol and no smoking...

This is definately not a Teen Night if adults are allowed into the venue - this is looking for trouble with drugs, alcohol, and the odd s*x offender looking for young meat...

Sorry guys, If I had kids I wouldn't allow them anywhere near...

I also have 2 teens and thought this sounded like a great idea until I read the part about alcohol available. My kids won't be coming which is a shame as they would have loved it. You can still make money on soft drinks and food! please reconsider the age limit and make it under 21's.

By deedee• 3 Jun 2009 15:04

You are advertising a TEEN club yet there will be a 21+ section with alcohol purchases going on? What's to keep the teenagers from becoming drunkards as well? As the mother of 3 teenagers, this throws up a red flag and I would not want my kids going there.
