It is called the Palm Tree of Light. It only comes alive on certain dates..

TFS - I've been trying to grow lanterns on my palm tree at home. No luck yet. Any advice ?

prize my friend, those lanterns were only used as decorations in the corniche area and not for general purpose.

Doha is definetely beautiful overall and some isloated areas in particular.

But if you have a chance to open your eyes wider you will find more beautiful places too.

Your standards for beautiful are pretty low
