so far and if you control yourself, you can have them and use them.

If wisely used you can get a lot of benefits, like air miles, prizes, trips, you name it.

On the other hand, just like abuimad said....YOU MIGHT NEED IT!!

i always hated credit cards, but today u really do need one, hotel reservations, car rental, airline ticked booking etc, so what i did was i got a credit card with my collateral being a term deposit, i set a not so high, yet very usable 20,000 qar limit, and this way i dont have to worry about over spending, and i can use my credit card to buy anything since no interest on purchases, and i get the free air miles and goodies without the hassle of interest...

good - dont worry about cash, and where is the nearest ATM...

bad - you must maintain control in order to avoid surprises and red numbers in your account.

to avoid interest, I always pay the full balance of my credit cards at the end of the month.

It is nice to have "like a little loan" from the bank so you dont have to touch your money from the bank and it generates interest for you.

War looking for peace,

is like fornication looking for virginity.

the upside are the freebies..

the downsides? hidden charges (though not so big), interest.. etc.. a credit card will provoke you to spend more and more..

cheers,

paul

its also good without it in order to limit you from excessive spending spree in the malls.

umm, good thing about it is if its needed during emergency. say, theres a LAST DAY SALE and u dont have cash. tell me if im wrong. wink wink wink

Good - convenience

Bad - my new ones require PIN no's. This is getting to be more than my tiny brain can handle :-(

Plenty of people can "control it". I have a couple of credit cards that I use for all purchases, but because I pay them off in full each month I don't pay any interest or fees. But I do receive interest on the money that's sat in my account all month before I pay off the credit card.

Of course the credit card companies are banking on people not being able to "control it". That's how they make there money.

Hi, i obtained a master, 2 visa cards, now i'm in depts" almost 25 000, and the amount never comes down, u'll be paying back for it for the rest of your life, and forget about who tells you " it's good as long as you can control it " cuz u'll never be able to control it.
