Chicago Bears Football
This weekend was pretty exciting in the NFL playoffs. Personally, I am a Bear fan, but a huge fan of the NFL. By the grace of Allah, the early game on Sunday 16th is Chicago v. Seattle. If anyone from Chicago is interested in watching the game, my good friends at the Sherhazad/Sports Bar (first floor, Ramada hotel) have promised to put it on at 9pm. I know there has to be at least one person in Doha who is from Chicago! Show up if you want to cheer on the Bears to victory!
Update -
Packers Won :O)
NFC ?
No Friggin Chance ?
Thanks to Evan and Charlie for showing up and cheering on the Mighty Bears! Next week is Green Bay for the NFC Championship.
Prediction:
There will be blood.
What do you call 47 people sitting around a TV watching the Super Bowl?
The Chicago Bears
:P
Raised in wisconsin and supporting the Bears :O(
et tu Brutus ?
et Tu ?
This is like a godsend. I was born in Chicago, raised in Wisconsin and have been a lifelong Bears/Cubs fan. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to watch. I will definitely be there. But I think it's at 8pm, cause ESPN says it's 1 pm EST.. right?
Ditka was practically a p#ssy compared to Bronco Nagurski.
With this being the last round of the playoffs- NFC and AFC championship games will be played in primetime U.S. With the timezone difference- Eastern Time is 8 hours behind Doha. This will be the last game we can watch at a civilized hour. The future games will be on at 2-4 AM and finish when normal humans are at work.
If you are an NFL fan, and like the camaraderie of watching in a public house with drink, food, and yelling; then I encourage you to come out and enjoy. I will buy a beer for anyone who cheers for the Bears and boos for the Seahawks.
The Bears were not the same without Ditka ..
He was like a Marine sergeant. how can you support a team managed by someone named "Lovie" :O)
You would think they landed at Normandy!
Just about one quarter of the UK personnel I meet mention "The Fridge" and the '85 Super Bowl Champion Chicago Bears Football Team. They left quite an impression on Jolly Old. Don't want to make anyone feel old, but Dude, that was 25 years ago! I watched it when I was 18. It made quite an impression on me, too. I would judge it to be one of the top 5 squads in American HandEgg history. And that covers a lot of territory.
I used to watch NFL and the Bears in the days of Ditka and McMahon.
Saw the NFL at Wembley in 86 when the Bears played against Dallas.
Loved the cheerleaders :O)
I wish I knew what that was? NFL? Hmmmm... It rings a bell, but which bell exactly; I don't know.
I was in the windy city a couple months ago and got one of them bears sweats, should I wear that and come? ;-)
