Hey Lynx,
Just to let you know some of us Irish will be celebrating St.Patricks Day in the way only Irish know how to. Hope you'll be able to make it out, i don't know if you're aware but your profile isn't accepting any emails so i cant get in touch with you. Anyway hope to chat to you soon.
Slan,
Colm.
Hey CJ,
Conas ata tu?, i know it's hard to believe but young Irish people do exist in Qatar. I'm 26, from Dublin and working full-time in Doha. I've got another Irish friend here, she's from Waterford and i was at an Irish bbq last month so there is a little community here ya just have to seek them out. Believe me, when i first got here i was missing home and wanted to hear an Irish accent and it makes all the difference when you do cos you know you're not the only one here. If you want to meet up with us for a drink or for the rugby when we're gonna kick ass in the six nations then drop me a line. My email is: [email protected].
Slan,
Col.
Calling all irish-Lynx- I lived mostly in the West End(A little time in Govan, less said the better) now have a place in Whiteinch, beside the clyde tunnel. So where did you study? Did my time at the Caley. Finding Qatar pretty alright to be honest, the driving is nuts, starting to miss the M8! You definitely need to fill your evenings, or you'll end up watching oprah 6 nights a week.(On the 7th night, you'll end up kicking the telly)I'm hopefully going to try my hand at Kite surfing next week, should be a laugh, or a tragedy... and the Asian Games should fill the time. Fancy going to the showjumping? not the RDS, but worth a look.
(Sorry, for not getting back faster, need to RTFM when it comes to navigating websites, I now have the hang of this)
Cheers,
Seal

you are right, it helps to have your family with you, i will be moving to doha in december without my wife and kids for the first year, and i am nervous already, but i know i will fit in since i will take the opportunity to get to know new people from different cultures as well
Hi
Yes it can be hard at times but Im living here with family which is a blessing. Dont know what Id do without them. but I am missing the warm and friendly nature of my fellow country men. But that doesnt mean Im not open to meeting people from different cultures. Im always intrigued to learn of new things.
