13 Yr. Old Orphan Girl Raped And Killed In Yemen
by Staff

Police officers in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, say a 13 year-old girl was fatally beaten after she was gang raped by seven men.

The young orphan was kidnapped early Wednesday while going to buy bread at a local bakery by a group of drunken men that allegedly included Ali Abdel-Kareem Hamid, the son of a powerful tribal leader, Bikyamasr reported Tuesday.

Residents expressed their outrage at the Sheikh's attempts to buy his son a way out of legal proceedings by offering to pay the girl's father, her only relative, for damages, and to marry the victim post mortem.

Facing mounting pressure as his son is the primary suspect of the rape investigation, the Sheikh reportedly warned he would kill anyone who would dare approach his son.

Sadly, many a parent would try and find a way to cover their offsprings' actions...

Oh my God!!!!!!!! So terrible it was a worst crime. 7 men raping the 13 yr old poor girl. And the father of the accused is threatening everyone to stay away on the case. How shameful he is. Its a barbaric & Satanic behaviour. Tolerating the crimes by paying the poor girls family in exchange the the sheikh sons crimes committed. What an Asholed father he is. Is this the Yemens rule of Law? Covering the case by paying money to the heinous crimes committed. Its an Authoritarial abused of law. What a shame to your ass.For both who are involved both Father, the son including his 7 cohorts.Go to hell..............

Makes my stomach turn, that poor little girl,so sad and sickening!..The men need to be dealt with, getting away with it will just teach them they can do it again and again cos nothing will happen to them if they do..Disgusting!

dmdfaisal: Child abuse is a phenomenal issue, happens everywhere even in most advanced countries.

The pic of the blonde blue eyed girl was to resonate this idea of violence against children being a universal problem so that we don’t get all sorts of crazy comments of ( us VS them ) popping all over the place. Guess the pic doesn’t sit well with the admin.

By cherukkan• 26 Jun 2012 09:55

sorry MM, I forgot that fact while reading the sad story.

Miss Mimi: how come? I made several posts stating that pic was symbolic for child abuse. A Pathos as Brit puts it and has nothing to do with the murdered girl.

Now admin wanna explain to us why you removed the pic? Or should we just pretend like nothing happened?

"These kind of people" are the "rulers" or "sheikhs" in those kind of countries. And everybody keeps their mouth shut, it's the "sheikh"! (His son in this case). Ancient oriental mentality.

You did explain, but people still didn't get it. I could point out the obvious about some QL readers, but I'm sure your smart enough to deduce the reason yourself MN :P

Its sad indeed and these type of people should be dealt with properly so that it becomes a lesson for others, something should be done, but... I was just thinking for a while here... Its happened in yemen, we can't do much there... but can we do something here?

Yes, we can look around in our own places where we live, what is within our reach and make a change. Try stop what is wrong and help what we can afford to. We have so many labours, maids, drivers, servants... underpaid, never paid, tortured, harmed, mistreated.... here in our own localities if we look into, get into industrial area, see the people there, ask some drivers and other labours around our parks/malls/shopping complexes... we can help them... can't we...???

There are many problems in this world, we can share a lot (sorry MarcoNandoz-01, not intending to offend anybody) on the internet/forums on whats going around in the world, but what matters is how much are we contributing to this world, to humanity and to others good... hope we can make some change and bring a little smile to our neighbors/surroundings inshaAllah.

Thanks all :)

I am wondering about the father of the accused. See how he is threatening others for the sake of his son. He does not understand the feelings of the parents of the poor girl?

Jesus Christ!

How many freakin times I have to repeat this!

The attached pic is symbolic for child abuse.

It’s not the freakin victim’s photo. Now get over it and instead let’s focus on the terrible story. Jeez!

By britexpat• 26 Jun 2012 08:54

My point is that these are all assumptions. The only fact available in this case is that the poor thing was raped and killed.

Honor killing and taking the law into one’s hand, tribal wars and revenge outside the legal system , with daggers machine guns and K.K.K’s is a widespread thing in Yemen, not just something that is a freak accident of sorts.

Why the picture of the abused girl and I can't find any links to honour or vengeance.

This a terrible crime and the criminals should be caught and hung. Period.
