Hi I am a PhD Chemist with several years of experience within the oil industry. I ve received an offer to come to work in Doha. Considering the high cost of living how much should I ask? Is it common to be paid in $ or Euro?

I will need a 2 bedroom house with studio, car and so on.
What is the salary for an engineer working within the oil industry?

Where is located a good area where to live? How bad is traffic?
Any useful information regardin living in Doha will be appretiated.
Thank you

Yes Master, right away master, your wish is my command master, 2 bedroom house with studio, car, washing machine, cat, fish tank, helicopter... POOF! and magically it was all granted to him.

Ok so if you've received an offer to come work here you must have been offered a salary package. You might want to tell us the salary package and then we'll tell u if its good enough. Thats how things work around here buddy u want answers you have to provide facts.

Good Fortune always comes knocking at your door...when you are sh*tting in the toilet!! :)

You will be paid in Qatari Rials, pegged to the US dollar. You should ask for a reasonable salary plus housing, car, air tickets, schooling and health care.

i'd like to help you dude but i'm gonna need a little more information than that. oil companies here pay very different amounts so you need to specify which one you're joining, how senior your position is (just naming the position should be enough) how much experience you bring etc...also this will help me tell you where you should be looking for a place to live.
