what is the income tax liability on return to the U.K.?
By geoff harrison •
I have been offered a 2year contract in Qatar, with a tax-free salary, as is normal with this country. However, I've been told that on return to the uk, I'll be liable to pay tax to the UK revenue. Does anyone know if this is true?
thanks, geoff.

Get in touch with HMRC and declare yourself as Non-resident, you will need to declare that you will be out of the UK and will spend no more than 90 days in the UK per tax year..... Simple. Also keep paying your NI whilst you are out and you don't lose any benefits, pension etc... £60 a month by DD
