Unpaid Salary
Hi everybody,
Could you please guide me as I have the following question about the unpaid salary?
I am working in one local company here in Doha since Feruary 2010. Eversince, I joined this comapny they never paid me on time except one month. Everytime they make me mad and delay the salary for 20 days and that too they pay in installments.
This month also they have not paid me so far and I have verbally and in writing also informed them that I would be going back to my home country on July 6, 2010 and apy me all my dues prior to my departuere. But the owner neither attends my phone call nor he is coming to office.
Please guide me what shall I do under these circumstances and where I have to complain and how much time it takes to solve the issue? What if the employer refuses to pay giving an excuse that he doesn't have money to pay?

GO THERE WITH ALL YOUR JUSTIFICATIONS!!
DON'T LEAVE QATAR UNTIL YOU GET PAID!MAYBE IT TAKE TIME...BUT DON'T LEAVE BECAUSE IF YOU GO YOU WILL NEVER SEE BACK 1 CENTS OF YOUR SALARY!

welcome to Qatar...good for you only 20 days...try the Labour Office, file a complaint but make sure you have proper documentation...
Sorry to hear this, try your embassy, contact a solicitor, look up Qatar Labour Law on internet, (there is one) ask other colleagues if they have been paid and if not all gang up together and go camp in your boss's office until he pays what he owe's you, dont be rude, and dont get angry, even though you have every right to be, just be FIRM and let him know you will not go away. Also try telling him you will let gulf times know all about his companys payment policy and you can always tell him you will telephone his competitors!
