Salary Problem

My name is Shaju Raphael, I am working in a construction company in Doha as Auto CAD Draftsman for 1.5 years. Before I worked as document controller in this same company. The company giving very poor salary to their workers. For me I am getting my previous positions-Document Controller salary (1550+270). I give many letters to the company regarding my salary upgrade and profession changing. The others getting more salary than me. Means same job but different salary. The living condition in home and here are very difficult nowadays. For me I don't have a house also. With this salary how can I make a house, to whom I complain? can anybody help to get Qatar labor ministry's mail ID or Postal ID.

There is no point in complaining and with the current restrictions on job transfer there isn't much you can do. If I was in your place I would start looking for a job in my home country and put myself a deadline after which I would move if the laws don't change

@kontingpino,From where did you get the source of your information? I've been here for the past two decades already but I got one increase in salary only. Thanks God. But it vanish into thin air with a part of my basic salary like magic when Asian Games came. I'm not losing hope though. But not until I put that Qr. buck in my pocket. Then, I'll buy you a drink.

start looking for an alternitive.

I have been in my company for 4 years making less than half of what my peers make. Since i am single, company doesn't pay me housing either, making the gap between me and them really wide :(

It's not company problem, or policy problem. ITS YOUR MANAGER, as it is with mine. They can help, but won't.

Same position with different salaries are called grading depending on the qualification, experience, skill and Nationality. You should have signed a contract with your Company in which you would have agreed your remuneration. The company should have submitted a copy of the same in the Labour Dept. Increasing the salary is totally up to your Company and Labour Department will not be able to do anything in this case. It will be better to talk to the GM for an increase or request for an NOC to find a good job and transfer and if not possible quit the job and go home.

Its common here that same profession will have different salaries. No point to complaint but you can keep requesting with your plus points.

All the best wishes
