I am a 23 yr hospitality professional. I am planning to transfer from the USA to Doha as a Assistant restaurant manager in a 5 star hotel. Can someone tell me what salary to expect. What other benefits should I expect to get with my job..eg accommodation, etc. Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks (Shukran !)

QR 3500 is not lucrative at all. 500 to 700 you need to shell out for internet /phone. Then Car EMI and everything is gone. You don't have a good saving potential in this.

The hotel offered me 3500 QR a month for Assistant restaurant manager along with all the other benefits like accomodation, transportation, meals, uniform, etc. Is this offer worth accepting ? If yes...why ? If no..how much should the offer be ? Please provide some feed back as soon as possible ! Thanks !

Gulf experience is a good boost for your career but dont expect for an assistant's job an offer that is 1500$ cz u will not get it.. you are looking at something bett 1100$ and a max of 1300$ give or take a few.. The hopsitality wages are not so high.. let me give you an example.. in the starwood hotels in Doha the Duty Manager gets 1250$ per month plus shared accomodation.. so as an assistant you are equivilant or a bit less depending on the property..

I'm a Hopsitality person too.. and I came to doha looking for a job in a hotel.. but did not accept the offers bcz of how low they are.. but since you are internally being transfered i.e. ur company needs u as a task force/preopening .. so its not something u asked for .. it something they did so u should be getting something good.. look into the offer before accepting..

If it is chainb like sheraton, metropolitan, intercontinental, etc,,,,you are entitled to get upto Qrs.5,000/- but you will transfered to other countries that depends your ability in your work,,if you can prove your ability within a short period,,you will success and u will get good perks and all.

Hi there and good luck on your travels.

Errrmmnnn, how do I say this? Hospitality wages suck! Even if you are working for Ritz or Four Seasons as Assistant Restaurant Manager you would be getting about QR3000 - 4000 a month. You also will be working 6 day weeks along with the hours that F&B demands.

On a brighter side though, you should get a share of the tronc which in peak season should be as much as QR2000-3000.

This is all tax free and also you will get shared accommodation etc. + one month pay for every year worked.

My advice, for what its worth, only go for a top 5* property, get 12-18 months experience and then use this as a platform to go as Restaurant Manager of assistant F&B somewhere either in Europe, or out to a resort in the indian ocean.

The world is your Oyster! Grab it and don't forget to enjoy yourself on the way.

Really it depends on the hotel ur coming to but let me tell you they are not so high paying here.. If it is a chain then the salary will not be as high as a local one bcz the local ones can push up with the salary..

As for benefits you will surely get at least:

-Shared accomodation with one other person

-medical coverage

-end of the year bonus

-Transportation

-laundry allowance if you do not have a uniform..

Did they already present you with an offer?
