Tks for the info.

Just do not get the 50%uplift!!!.

and onemore thing, say i get a small place and do not spend the 10K from the allowance, what happens?

Is 2k enough for transportation??? as far as i saw u can rent a small car with 2,4k...

people seem tohave different opinions...

You will get the additional in your paycheck every month.

For example, you will get each month 19k (salary + house + transportation).

If you sign a contract for house and the rent is 13K, then is 3K higher than your house allowance.

Every month your paycheck will be 19k + 3k = 22k.

And the maximum they can pay for housing will be 15K. Hope this helps.

First of all try to find out how much a Marine Superintendant makes in Doha. The best time to negotiate is at the begininning, nobody will force you to take an offer if you think is not fair, do not expect big increments, depending on your company you might get 5-20% increase on your basic salary per year.

Regarding the allowances will be difficult to drop them or negotiate them as they will be in the company policies if you are coming to work for a medium-big company.

Do some research on Internet about house rental prices, clothes, groceries, they might be more expensive than what you think in Qatar.

I agree with MRST2009 advice...

Try to increase your base salary and drop your club membership and furniture allowances...

Plus your accommodation allowance (including the 50% uplift) is enough to get you a brand new fully furnished 2 bedroom apartment in the Pearl or Westbay, so you might not need to buy furniture at all!

benefits are high and you dont need like the club or 55 for furniture.. (unless you can use it to purchase a car)

try to get 25 basic no club and furniture on 40k
