Salary Offer
Hello everybody,
Could l please ask for some guidance!
I am a Quantity Surveyor with ten years experience working for a Main Contractor in the UK, l also have a Degree in Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management. I have recently been seeking employment in Qatar and have been offered the following:
Basic - 17,500 per month
Phone - 500 per month
Car Allowance - 2500 per month
+ Bonus of atleast 1 months salary
+ Free apartment with electricity and water bills paid
+ 2 return flights a year
+ Medical Insurance etc.
Cash in the hand equates to £3600 per month plus a yearly bonus. After paying for a car, petrol,Gym membership, food, Internet, phone, socialising, l'm planning on having an amount of around £1750 per month to save.
Firstly, is the offer the going rate? Secondly, if so, is it realistic to save the amount above?
Many Thanks
Mike
I think you have an affectation towards me… sorry but I don’t do your kind,, many reasons ,, but I wont go into that here dear, sorry to see you are spending xmas alone and you want to grab my attention,, but not interested my young pino wife would kill me.. sorry dear…
In spoken English, at least you can deny you say it, BUT in written English, wow, there is a very big difference between an honest mistake and a ...................!
but come on try to tell me the brits don’t drink that much here,, hello go to the Irish harp and have a look, then see at the QDC,, come on facts are facts... but the rest of your advise is right yes,,, burrrrp time for anothe vodka mate
To Mike..thats the problem of asking people on here who are either clueless, ignorant or simply stupid by making and agreeing with preconcieved prejudices. Ignore the uninformed, they assume all British drink alcohol like they do, or they are simply jealous about it. Your offer sounds low, I am assuming you dont have kids, because thats normally an added bonus that gets worked into the contract (paying for school fees here are expensive). The problem with accepting accomodation without mentioning an amount means they may put you in any place, which can cause problems for you later. If I was you I would request an estimate of how much they are willing to fork out (that way you can consider if it will be decent enough). I would contact a recruitment agency locally, and find out the market related basis for a QS. Here, unfortunately, the market depends on passport etc, sorry to say but it happens. Your basic just sounds much less that what you would expect to be paid. Rest of the benefits sound ok. Bearing in mind the cost of living is very high here, negociate fully before you accept. Hope this helps you.
NO,the offer is way tooooooo low. Your basic should be in the QAR 25,000 - 30,000. Check what accomodation you will get if not you will end up in a shithole in dusty area without any parking. Quality of housing is poor. Contact a western recruitment agency to confirm. Remember Qatar is not a developed country so you need extra compensation for that. Do not worry about the alcohol, join the locals as they know exactly where to go for the drinks.
Not a bad offer especially since they cover your rent. Your savings target is doable. Just don't drink too much ;-)
hahhahaha DD you are awesome. thats all
but you have to remember that the cost to buy your alcohol here is very expensive, and the way the English drink ......you would have to have around 1,000 pounds a month for that alone, best of luck it a good offer standard,, rents can cost you around 8,000 to 10,000 for a small single place, so if the accomadation is supplied great
