ei guys!

a live-out housemaid will come to my house in the morning & leave at around 5 pm, sunday to thursday for looking after my daughter & saturday for ironing only (maybe for 3 hours). how much do u think should i give her?

Normally they charge around QR 20-25 per hour.

I suggest u not to pay hourly rate. It will confuse u futre. and she cannot feel the money.

An average salary for a house made is between 750 QAR and 1500 QAR. And in ur case u can offer her 1000 QAR which is reasonable. I guess she might work some other place too. so she can balance the salary. (try give food extra), giving food cannot cost u much..

Also try to give salary as small currency.. like 50 QAR * 20 notes. Its a psychological fact, more money to count will give more pleasure to have.

going rate for live-out is 25QR per hour plus taxi

live-in rate is 1000-1500 QR per month.

It would be cheaper for you to hire her as a live-in. See if you can negotiate some sort of rate with her.

If the maid will be working for several months for you, it will be better if you pay her a fix monthly rate, say, QR 3,000 plus taxi fare.
