I'm a power plant operator from the philippines for 5yrs, recently i have an offer in rasgas as utilities operator,  i just want to get your humble opinion in these matters.,

1. I have a basic salary offer  5349QR, transportation allow. 1300QR, free housing, free dental and medical services plus 18000qr 1 time for appliances allowance. Do you think this is a good offer?

2. Is there any chance that i can change my bachelor status offer of 6months work and 24 days off to Quarterly basis or rotation basis? i think i will be assigned in onshore facility. I am married and i have a child but i decided to go for bachelor status...

3. Is there room for renegotiation of contract after my probationary period?

4.Do you have any idea if can convert the free housing to housing allowance?

5. Is there any chance that i can apply from other company like for example shell gtl or dolphin if ever i resign from rasgas?

6. What is the standard salary rate of utilities operator in rasgas?

Thank you so much for reading my quries hope you can help me...thanks..

If you will openly discus this with the people don't know exactly what is the nature of your job/ demand and future.... you will find different comments.

i can assure you, this is a very attractive offer as per your mentioned *standard salary rate of utilities operator * and as per your work experience.

- No room for renegotiation of contract

- can convert the free housing to housing allowance  ....may be

- You can't join Dolphin and in this case no need to join Dolphin (all RL companies have same range of salary for same trade)

Salary you mention is low, you must be missing something.  I understand that Ras Gas is relying on Resident workers not rotation.

You need an NOC letter to move to another Company in Qatar, and I also understand that there is a Gentlemans agreement between the different Gas Companies not to steal Employees from each other so you would never be able to move from Ras Gas to Dolphin.

Try to get a job in Dolphin instead, pay is higher and all operational personnel is on a 28x28 rotation.

Hi friend,

ras gas is one of the best companies in qatar, but what you mentioned is not the excat salary structure, some of the things are missing  like  location  allowance and  shift allowance .basically in qatar if you are getting more then 10,000 QR except housing and all other welfare is the managable offer, once if you joined here  you cannot move any other companies in qatar. regarding the bechelor status of accomodation and salary still you can negotiate..................

I don't think so...Qatar is still developing and that's why we moved back to the U.S. Qatar's stadard of liuving is too high and very expensive. My suggestion is to find another place like Dubai. Hope this helps!
