RASGAS

Can you please tell me the following about RASGAS and my Job Profile.

1. What will be the grade for 'Head of warehouse operations' in RASGAS.

2. For that grade, What should I ask for.

I have 15 years experience in Procurement & warehouse Management in Oil Refinery and I am an Engineer with additional Oil & Gas projects experience. I am SAP MM system certified and have been training Refinery end users on SAP MM processes and transactions. I have been Internal Auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 for 7 years now. Experience far more than what RASGAS is asking for. You will feel that it is obvious that it hurts to see pay difference between western Expatriate and South Asian Expatriate. Frankly speaking, how many Oil and Gas organisations are there in the world and how much more experience a person can have. But then, I am not coming here to change organisational behavior or such, LOL.

3. What family accommodation I would be getting for family of 4 in AL KHOR. In case, I do not get it in AL KHOR, what should I ask for in a villa in DOHA. Will RASGAS HR find accommodation for me.

4. What about Car Loan and allowance. What is the period of deduction for the loan. Can I buy a two year old SUV, for instance and save loan money. In absolute monetary term, what are the car prices in Qatar and used car market in particular. I certainly do not want a flashy car.

5. What is the company Children education assistance comprises of. As you are aware, there are many cost elements in Schooling apart from just the annual fee. My Daughter is in VIII Std and Son in II Std. What is the American School fee structure.

6. What's the working time. Is it 5 days a week or 6 days a week in Ras Laffan.

7. What about Leaves? Do I get Sick leave.

8. Can I ask for Business Air tickets for 4 every six months with at least 15 days paid holidays.

9. To have a broader perspective, What are Procurement & warehouse Management job opportunities available in other Qatar Organisations.

10. My wife is qualified too to work for administration. Can she apply for job here and at what pay.
There are many more questions left. But, I don't want to bother you more.

I am eagerly waiting for replies.

With Warm Regards.

Pankaj

most of the information I gave you is based on feedback from people working in RASGAS and based on some research I did personally after my arrival into Qatar.

This an average allowances/benefits description but in the end it will all depend on the package you will be offered by the company.

Best of Luck!!

Once again regards!!

in the O&G industry maybe the SPE 2008 salary survey could give you a help or a guidance in this matter. Do a search in google for the above mentioned document since it is public; and you can save a copy of it in your venues for reading and consultation.

As per grades and salaries you are right maybe that info is not on the internet but if RasGas has contacted you you should approach them and ask at least the grade.

In sites like monstergulf or even bayt some positions posted sometimes give information on salary package on a per annum basis. Just check and do the maths.

Yet another place to look after positions and salaries could be

Galloper48, You have been pretty fast in your reply. Thanks to you for the time and effort. I appreciate. But how do I research on the grades & positions of a company. I presume, it is not available free online. If you can share your thoughts in this regard.

Is there a Phone no. or email address available with you, I will be grateful. PM me, if you can.

As for me getting some concrete answers and absolute monetary values, do you feel I would get it at Monstergulf or at Bayt company to company.

Thanks, Gallop.

1.- Ask HR for grade and positions

2.- Grades are pretty much attached to salary packages so once you get tha grade you will get the salary.

3.- You will either get housing in Al Khor or in Doha. (Some people prefer to ask for the money and rent on their own)

4.- Car loan will be repaid on the duration of your contract. If your contract is "indefinite" then most probably you will have to set a limit to repay the loan (or the company will give one time limit). By the way to get the car loan you will need a quotation and you will get the money based on car cost and policies. If the car costs less than the total amount given to you in loan then you will get enough to get the car not the full amount.(so no savings...sorry)

5.- Education allowance is in the policies (once again ask HR what is the basis for calculations and expenses covered) For fees structure in ASD go to

http://www.asd.edu.qa

6.- If you are related to a project you could be working six days a week (sat to thu) or five days a week(sun to thu)either in Ras Laffan or in Doha.

7.- Yes you get sick leaves (policies, ask HR) and also you get annual leave (again HR)

8.- Plane tickets and days off are given based on policy for annual leave (ask HR, and plane tickets are Based on IATA fares)

9.- Do a little research in companies web pages or in job sites like monstergulf.com or bayt.com

10.- If she is qualified enough and she finds an opportunity here yes she can work provided all the paperwork is right.

Hope to be clear on answers and comments

Regards!!

you should ask your questions to HR in Rasgas. Rasgas is quite a good company, As good as Qatar Gas, and much much better than Dolphin Energy.
