Qatar Labour Law - Gratuity
I have a query about gratuity.
I have worked for a company in Qatar for 3 years that is not a fully registered company yet but should be later this year. Each year I sign a 10/11 month contract. This year I have been given a 10 month contract that specifies my end of contract gratuity (which amounts to one months salary). The previous two contracts had no reference to gratuity. By signing this do I forfeit any chance of obtaining gratuity for the previous 2 years?Any help in this matter would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks
I agree with Mandilulur. it's in the Labor Law. and not only in qatar but most of the GCC countries, since you don't get a pension plan, this gratuity represents your pension plan
No, your gratuity is not by contract but by Qataqr labor law. It does not even need to be specified in your contract.
