Qatar Airways Housing, Amenities

Hi,

Can anyone here who is using Qatar Airways accommodation give a brief description of the apt complexes, villas etc. I am interested to know the following:

Location of the building(I am familiar with the geography of Doha, so exact locations will be helpful) How new is the building?

What does a fully furnished accommodation include?

What kind of furniture? On site and close by amenities?

I am considering their offer and will appreciate a fast response. Thanks

EDIT: Qatar Airways pay scale.

Fundamental components to think about when intending to fabricate a house in Thailand for you to resign to. Every one of these variables will radically bydlení change the expense of your home, how rapidly it tends to be constructed, the setup and the quality.

Qatar Airways doesn't provide 'Accomodation' as we know it. It provides Jailing and Hogiing facilities under the tutelage of wardens if you like ;)

It's not going to be a shared accommodation. How good is the quality of furniture? Do they replace damaged furniture? I guess you have to get your own kitchen utensils?

I don't think I would enjoy a shared accommodation anyway.

but he & most of his collegues opt to live out than to get the accomodation, they save QR.4500for the housing allowance and we got our room big enough for us & our daughter,we shared with his flatmates and we only pay 1,500 for our room. well, it's up to you if you opt to have the accomodation where you dont need to worry ofproviding everything, all you need is to go there wih your personal belongings.but if you want to save some of it,why not look for some sharing flats.might not hurt that much.

It is a good accomodation as it is furnished already. Bed,aircon, kitchen equipments (ref, microwave, gas range & oven), washing machine, and tv (but you need to subscribe if you want good channels). Also, you dont need to pay for the water and electricity.

Most housing buildings are located in the najma, mansoura areas. There are also several buildings solely for cabin crew one building is located near matar qadeem.

However, you can only get the full flat if you are in grade 6 and above. For grade 4-5, you share the flat with other staffs. Normally there are 2-3 bedroom flats. That means you have two flatmates (one staff per room).

But if you are grade 3 and below, you share not only the flat but also your room. Minimum 2 in one room (depends on the size of the room). Meaning, if the flat is a three bedroom flat, total staff sharing the whole flat would be 6 staffs.

Personally, it is better to stay in the accomodation as compared with living out. Yes, you can save money living out if you are on a sharing accomodation (bedspace) but you have to sacrifice your privacy and likewise have to blend in with your room-mates or housemates. Usually when you are on a sharing accomodation, there are four to six people in one room! You are lucky already if it is only four and below. Price range for sharing accomodation is 750 riyals and above. Price for a single room depends on the location but normally it is 2000 riyals and above.

Hope this helps you out.

Well if you grew up in this part of the world then you know that no place is better or worse than what you make of it. So make the best of whatever.Good luck and welcome bact to the real world. ;-)

Thanks Casaberger. You do make it sound good. Maybe people have higher expectations with the kind of accommodation. I grew up in that part of the world as well. That was 10 years ago and Doha has changed significantly since then, especially the housing side. Anyway hoping for the best.

As far as i know the above mentioned areas are where they are concentrated. They just rented another very nice building in Najma.... and why not.... it´s close to the airport.... and logistically smart to concentrate people...don´t worry. Doha is great. But it´s not easy and full of lots to do. On the bright side... you wont get over stimulated like in dubai (which i personally call `trueman show international) Like i said.... life here is real! And you need to be a bit imaginative to get the best out of this place..get back to basics.. which is why i like the place. But then again i grew up in this part of the world so it feels like home... more than any other place.

casaberger...I have heard good things about the cabin crew accommodations. However not many people have the same opinion about the others. Are there other areas of accommodation that are not so good?

5* is probably not the correct expression.;-)

The first thing you need to ask, If they are five star ratings?

"Don't make me write your name on my TURD List!"

If it´s apartment then I believe most of the staff lives in Najma/mansoura area. Usually they are of good standard and finish for qatar standards. Great areas..... lots of real colorful doha life. Live in the area myself. Good luck.
