I am offered a job by QP for a SG 16 position on an indefinite contract. Monthly base salary is 25,000, housing allowance of 14,200/month, transpo allowance of 2000/month, furnishing allowance of 55,000 per calendar year. There is also a currency protection allowance of +/- 700 and was told that this amount varies. Appreciate advice whether this is a good offer. Thanks!

How the QP gave you that offer? For you to ask that in this forum is NOT logically inline with the QP's offer. QP is expecting more from you but if you can not decide the things for your self, then what more to the company? What is this, is that only to show or tell every body that you will be geting that much salary? Why dont you ask the salary of most of the QLers?

You don't get the housing alloance every year though. But you might get a bonus though - whoohoo.

I think you have a bargaining power. You could still maximize your offer by having at least 20% market-based adjustment. Good luck and save your money well.

My comments may be out of the topic but in order for us to be truly bless (by God), whatever we earn (small or huge), we should not forget to share to those who are in need. The true blessing comes from God who sustain us of His natural resources of life, the air we breath, good health, loving friends, beautiful families and wonderful boss. Whatever you share, it will return to you a hundred folds...

It's not how big you received, but how big is your heart in giving.

Return to topic:

PAST EXPERIENCE WILL GIVE YOU IDEAS HOW TO MOVE FORWARD. ACCEPT THIS OFFER AND BE THANKFUL EVERYDAY.

Hello Stefizen,

First of all, in Qatar, your salary is tax free

Apart from this, you may get children education allowance, you furniture allowance is not every year, so pls check.

Currency fluctuaction will not much helpful for you as USD is fixed with QRs.

You will get US clubs here, so to have good comfort time.

Apart from your annual leave, you will get 10 days eid holidays( twice a year), so with your Good package, you can easily effort to fly and come back. Ticket cost for economy classes for US is around 1,200USD.

I would suggest to spend a little part of your life in Qatar with QP. I am sure, proper planning will help you to make your retirement for comfortable.

Regarding the furnishing allowance, it is paid once in my service with the company and in lump sum. Contract also includes an interest-free car loan.

Mostly all aspects are covered by the replies. I would just add, recheck the furnishing allowance part... seems it should be once in 4 years.

This is a better package than what many of us ever hope for.

Hopefully you don't have to kill anyone for this kind of offer... ; )

Frankly it all depend on where you from, your experience level, your current income, your lifestyle etc.

For sure, you will suffer some frustration when you first come here (especially if you are used to the western ways) and you may have to make sacrifices in several fronts (lifestyles, away from your family etc). On the other hand I'm sure there are many things that you will gain here (experience, broadening the horizon) not to mention a somewhat higher level of job security in this uncertain times.

So, think it over and decide well.....

Cheers

SK

Thank you ALL for your responses! BTW, I did not mention that I will be moving with my spouse only. Hope we will be able to save enough for retirement.

Have a wonderful day everyone. This does not mean though that further responses and inputs are not welcome anymore. Feel free to share....

Thanks!

It is a good oppotunity in State of Qatar as u can save minimum of QR. 300,000 in a year if you are staying here with your family. But still it depends on your current job status and salary. Compare it with this offer and take decision.

Good luck

If you will save more than you currently do it's a good offer. If you won't, it's not.
