Need your comments kabayans
I am an accountant with 17 years of experience in the Philippines and one year in the UAE. I got an offer from MGM (Maintenance Management Group) based in Doha with a package salary of QR5000(basic 2500 + housing 2000 + transpo. 500). The employer give me business visit visa instead of a work visa.
With that package of QR5000 how much will be spent for my housing, transport and food allowance on the average? Can I still send money to support my family here in the Philippines? I accepted the offer because I am now unemployed for almost 5 months since I came back from the UAE. I 'm still here in the Philippines and was given up to November 12 to decide.
Any idea on MGM as an employer?
Can anybody recommend an employer in Doha who is looking for an accountant?
Your comments and suggestions especially from fellow kababayans will be highly appreciated

thanks novita77... sure I will visit and post in the site you gave me. another question, when I will ask for the exit permit? after I resign? or before joining the company? Is this different from the NOC?
Thanks for your valuable comments and suggestions on my queries.
Is it possible to negotiate further even if I already signed an employment offer and they already sent me a business visit visa?
How long will it take for the employer to convert the visit visa into work visa?
Dnt Waste ur career
and dont forget the exit permit ... means you need their permission any time you wanted to leave the country that making you a virtual prisoner if things went wrong.
That offer is too low for someone with your experience. For housing alone, you need to spend 3000 to have a good room in a villa shared with other people. Accomodation will eat much of your income. Another problem is transportation (public transportation is almost non-existent - sorry for the exaggeration). Taxis are too expensive (0.50 QR per 500 meters during daytime and 0.75 QR/500m on the night time), and busses plying around the city are too few, and usually the schedule has an interval of 30 minutes (that's the reason why you are forced to take a taxi instead of a bus to get to work). So, I don't think 500 QR is enough to cover your travel expenses. With the information you got, try to negotiate for more.

try to post your question on that filipino group, hopefully u will get more respond.
I know some accountants who were working in my company from Nepal who left the company for good. They don't have 17 years experience or even 7. Maybe 2 years only and they were getting paid 4000 Q.R . Now they are getting paid 8500 Q.R so please ... consider another company ... With your experience you can get a lot better offer that won't be less than 10,000 Q.R
5000 Q.R is really to less and you won't be able of course to survive with your family here, alone it would be difficult enough though also.
Best Wishes ...
