On my way to Qatar for Interivew! Help
I'm flying to Qatar Friday for an interview at Qatar Gas.
Is the interview with the HR going to be informative or real negotiations?
I’m going in to stay in Qatar for one day. All the interviews and medical exam are going to be in the same day. Till now we have not really talked about the money.
Having not done this before, can any one help point me out to the right attitude?
I’m American and going for a senior quality officer position and I have more than 7 years of experience.
I have to admit I am envious of your level of experience (am a 21 year-old new graduate). Just remember always to expect the worst (in this case an unltra-formal interview). That way, things cant get any worse than you have prepared for. Good luck!
here they pay for your nationality not for you experiance
be arabic or nibal or ....ect they will give you 500 QR even if you know how to made nuclear , you will find alot of confusing between everythings , but you will find .....long story , anyway welcom
you've mentioned that the medical exam will be on the same day...so take care of your health.
Thanks Cal, Huyen, monica.
anything else I need to put in my mind, other Benefits?
Congrats for the interview.
As people said, you have to negotiate the following:
- Housing Allowance: A apartment in a good area could cost minimum 14,000 QAR and a villa in a compound between 18,000 up to 25,000 QAR.
- Transport Allowance: If you want to buy a car you have to pay between 1800-2000 qar month to the bank.
- Salary minimum between 18,000 - 20,000 QAR
- Education Allowance: Minimum 30,000 qar per child
- Travel Allowance: Or al least 1 ticket per year to go back to your point of origin.
- Medical Insurance
- Life Insurance
Hope this info will help you.
I would go in with the attitude of going on an actual interview. It's better to over prepared than under prepared. If it turns out that the interview ends up being a casual interview then at least you have nothing to regret.
Anyways I don't know about the salary for the company but you should make sure that they offer you housing. Also I would suggest to use a currency converter on google to determine the amount they are offering you in dollars. By doing this, you can determine if the offer is better than what you are currently making in the US and if you have to negotiate the salary. I hope you find this helpful
