Looking To Get Opinions on Salary Payments

Over the course of next year, I will be employing personnel for various positions in Qatar. From storemen to customer executives to IT.

On a general level for Supervisory / Middle Management personnel, I would be grateful for some opinions on 2 scenarios of salary payments:

Option 1:

Lumpsum Salary inclusive of Housing, Transport, Tickets, Local Medical etc.

Option 2:

Salary + Housing + Transport + Medical + Tickets etc.

Bearing in mind on Option 1, the person can pick and choose their own budget to suit their needs. On Option 2, forfeiting or toping up to suit their needs.

Bonus not taken into account on the above.

Grateful for comments!

Many Thanks

Thanks for your insights and looking at it from a business / HR / Admin point of view, but I am really after a personal opinion.

Severance pay is not my biggest worry just now. And for number of staff over 2010 only being about 15, admin wise this is not an issue.

If I was to hire you, what would you prefer ?

And don't forget to delay the salary payments for at least three months. It's legal.

Since gratuity is legally mandated in Qatar, it is not recommendable to incorporate housing allowance and other allowances to the basic pay. lump sum option increases your end of service payments exponentially.

as to the pick and choose option, if you have more than a hundred staff, that would be an administrative nightmare.

IMHO.
