Living / Moving to Doha

Hello,
I'm a lecturer from the UK and have an interview for Qatar University in the next month or so. I've spoken briefly to a faculty member, who seemed very nice, on the phone but I was wondering if anyone had any idea about a couple of things about the (possible) move.
Firstly, roughly how much the salary might be for a associate professor / professor (a long shot, I know, but money is a grubby issue!)
Secondly, what it might be like for a left-leaning, short-haired woman of feminist principles to live in Doha.
And thirdly, what people enjoy about Doha and Qatar - so many ex-pats live out there, there must be a lot to recommend it.
Any input would be very gratefully received - it would be a huge move IF they offered me the job!
Best,
Becca

And for your third question ... we like it here because my husband short working hours and tax free salary.
Can't really answer you questions directly sorry but if you use the search function you can read loads of postings about life here.....the +ve and the -ves.....make sure you get the right salary packing to include housing as that will be your biggest expense.....seek and you shall find
