Job Offer

Hi! I'm landscape architect from Europe, and I just graduated, so I don't have any work experience.

I have a job offer for 1600$ per month + pension, social, health insurance, accomodation, food on the job, one plane ticket per year, and a car with a driver, but that is for job use only.

Is it good offer?

Thank you!

There are some more Landscape Architects from Europe here! And, there is even one from Serbia - me!

Zeko, javi se kada stignes u Dohu i smestis se. Nisu se bas pretrgli sa ponudom, ali super je za tebe da odmah pocnes da radis. U Srbiji se posao u nasoj struci nalazi jako tesko.

Pozdrav :-)

I'm coming there to work and earn experience, and I don't plan to stay longer then 2-3 years, and then to come back to Europe with great experience. For 3 years working as ladnscape architect in Doha I should work at least 5 in Europe, since in Europe, we work only during spring and autumn.Only thing I'm concerned is the salary...

is to work and earn experience, COME quickly.  But if your priority is leisure more than work, then QAtar is not for you! One or two years will be a good time to expand your horizon and apply or seek for better options! Can anyone tell me what a fresh landscape architect can do much to deserve (as someone mentioned above) 5 times of his offer?I wonder what company offer him this job?

Well, the salary of 2000$ is not bad for a fresher......I felt the same when I got an offer. I was happy to get a job and the best thing here is your 2000$ would be in hand, no tax deductions...best of luck...

Thank you very much!Salary pacage that is offerd for me is much bigger than in Serbia, and this is for first 3 monts until I'm on probationary, after that should be 2000. Also I won't work only on the site, since I'll work as project asssitent, so I will have more office work. But since I'm young and like to travel, I'll come to Doha! :)Once again, Thank you all very much for responce!

How much would you earn in Serbia? And will you be worth more on the market in two years, after having worked in Qatar?

I think that answers the question. If i was in your position, i would take it. It'll pay off in the long run.

The salary is too low. You don't have to be grateful for this opportunity - they want your service in exchange for money, and that money is not enough for you to save anything. If you have to pay utilities, internet, transport from A to B in Qatar, enjoy a few drinks out from time to time or a meal - the money will be spent. Have a search on this Forum about cost of living and do some calculations yourself. Good luck.

it's a very low package, even if you have no experience, you should start with a minimum of 3000 $ basic salary. Try negotiating. Good luck

If you have indeed studied to become a landscape architekt, you will be the only one who actually knows what he is doing in Qatar. And you will also be the only European in Qatar who does this kind of job.

not bad. but its not a good one. even if u have no experience u should try negotiating for something nearer to  wht u can receive in ur place.ur job entails working ouside and u have to know the weather here is not friendly. but if u'd like to take it then go ahead. just ask for a car at ur own disposal. public transport here isn't reliable
