Job Offer
The situation is this:
I have no job right now. My business visa is going to expire Nov 20. A job offer came. Knowing that my visa is going to expire soon, i panicked and signed the OFFER LETTER. And then the following day, I realized that my salary is not sufficient enough to sponsor my wife which i and my wife planned. I have a basic salary of 4k and an allowance of 2.5k, which brings to a total of 6.5k. My wife and I decided that if she can't be with me here in Doha, I have to go back to my country and just find a job there.
Earlier, I was just told by my previous employer of 1month, that my Business visa was extended til Dec 20.
Can I still turn down the JOB OFFER, knowing that I still haven't signed any CONTRACT (not the initial offer letter)? Should I renegotiate their offer so that I may be allowed to sponsor my wife in the future? What are the complications if I turned down the job offer? Any suggestions would help. Thank you.
Yes at any given time you can still turn down the offer.
1. Yes, you can turn down the JOB OFFER if you think it's quite low as what you have expected before.
2. Yes, you can re-negotiate regarding your salary provided that it shouldn't be invalid as per company's rules related to the position offered to you.All the best to u for this.
3. Chances will be either company will turn down your demands or may increase a bit amount in it..
Talk politely if you really need a job in DOHA..
Just be honest with them...tell them that you had second thoughts about it and you noticed it's not sufficient to bring your wife here...try to negotiate for 7,500 or 8,000, if they refused then search for another job....
An offer letter is just an agreement of gentlemen on a piece of paper... not official though
All the best
offer letter only for a invitation that give you surety of job, if you are not satisfied you can negotiate with them, who offered the job. Actually job searching is prohibited if you are in a visit visa here. if company not ready to provide your expectation you can go back without any mistakes with your exit permit which is provided by your current sponsor.
Ask the company if they will agree to giving you a letter stating you earn 7500
