While in Qatar this summer i had an interview at a tuition centre, it went well and i was offered the job. when i told them that the part time position would suit me well as i would be looking for something fulltime too i was told thats not possible? my question is is it true that you are only able to work for one employer? it sounds silly but i would appreciate if someone could clarify this for me...?

hi, if you are in doha on husband's sponsorship you can work with your husbands approval, in this case the company hiring you would need his NOC (No objection cert). Another thing is if you are under ur husband's sponsorship and he has already given you NOC to work in a company, you wont be allowed to work sumwhere else. It is illegal to work in other company if they are not your sponsor. I hope this can help.

Moreover, if you can acquire a husband sponsor visas, then you have ALL THE TIME to look for a good job and can choose a good company who can give you a good salary and satisfying benefits... and no need for you to look for your part time job.

most of the female worker here in doha whose husband is also working here in qatar, are having what we called "husband sponsor visas" it means that their visa is under on husband sponsorship....The advantage of this kind of visa is that, you can work freely to any company (private, govt) even without transferring your visa to such company.

In your case, if your husband can process your visa under his sponsorship then you can work full time or part time or both...depends on your time availability...

however, you should also bear in mind that your other company might questioned you if your "other job" might had some "conflict of interest" if both are on the same field....

Moreover, if you can acquire a "husband sponsor visas"...then you have all the TIME to look for much better full time work and no need for you to look for a part time job....you might land in a goverment company whose giving you salary and benefits more than you expected...

let me start from the beginning, i was in qatar on holiday as my husband has been working out there, while i was there i had an interview and the place said that they wouldnt be able to sponsor me but advised that my husband could sponsor me to come over, however i then recieved another job offer at a school, the hours would be different and the position would be for learning asssistant so again no sponsorship would be offered. i just assumed that like the uk u can have numerous jobs as long as the hours dont clash...

here is where the confusion is, if my employers are nt offering sponsorships bt just work permits does that still mean i cant take up both jobs?

hope this make more sense...

first u need to clarify to us if what kind of visa ur holding right now? if ur under husband sponsor visa, family visa, company visa or what?

coz they are correct, u can only work under one sponsor here in doha....

does it also apply if the job is not offering a sponsor, i mean the tution place have said they would not be offering a sponsor if i was to accept my husband who is liing in qatar would sponsor me so is this still the case?

Why does it sound silly?

Yes it's true, you can only have one sponsor, hence only one job.
