Issues with company re housing and husband

I have been in Qatar for about 4 weeks now... I am a married Australian and my husband was already working here before I came here.

I was offered a job when I was in Australian as Office manager for a Canadian company although the President is Qatari so I am under his sponsorship.

The general manager that hired me asked me that I come live with her until my Residence Permit coming through, which I agreed too. She also assured me that my husband could come over anytime and stay etc. But now I am here is making me keep it like a secret from Qatari sponsor I am married and that my husband does not come over here... Although this Qatari is very liberal, like he drinks etc. Because if I knew there were going to be all these issues about him, I don't think I would have come here... why should I keep my husband a secret?

What's the big deal? He's not my boyfriend he is my husband of 2 years...

Also now I am nervous once my Residence Permit comes through they will not allow me to live with my husband etc.

Your issue is not clear. please explain it, then we can give you some advises, You have to approch your embassy, get a marriege certificate, if you have one you can attest it from embassy and live with your hubby.

what exactly is their point? why you are not allowed to live with your husband??? Even if the Company requires you to be under its sponsorship, it cannot prevent you from living with your husband...weird...

You are permitted to sponsor your husband, so I don't get what the problem is? What are their reasons for the same?

sounds a tad dodgy...beware!
