Gratuity payment

Just a quick question. I am leaving Qatar soon after 18 months into 2 year contract. My HR are claiming as I have not done the 2 years, I get no gratuity payment. I accepted that, but then read that Article 54 of Qatar labour law says that I am entitled to a gratuity after 1 year on a pro rata basis.

The contract says a gratuity is paid at the 2 year point, but also that Qatar law is supreme in all cases.

So, am I entitled to a gratuity or not? And if so, how do I go about persuading my company to pay?

gO TO LABOUR COURT AND YOU WILL GET ALL YOUR RIGHTS. not just gratuity but air ticket also but you will get cancelled from your current visa and will not be able to enter qatar within 2 years

yes you should get Gratuity. Show your HR the law and threathen them with the authorities, that might do the trick
