Graphic Designer's Salary

Hi everybody,

This is my first time to post in QL and first time also to worked here at Qatar. I've been working to my company for almost a year now as a Graphic Designer. The problem is I don't have any idea of what's the basic salary of a designer. My Basic salary is range at 2500 QR/month and I did a lot of things especially in Graphics(layout & design, 3D stuff, Vfx & compositing for video, websites and flash animation etc.) is this fair? I also worked for almost 8 hours a day and without overtime.

I want only to clarify what is the standard salary of a Designer.

Answers highly appreciated!

Thanks,

Jurin

Be patient, remember you agreed a deal from the begining before you started, hold till when your contract will finish then u can ask for increasement of salary then if they cant afford to pay you....feel free to go

Well, if you think you have the edge, then ask for the right compensation. Tell them that you are no longer noob in this field and that you have already served many clients. This is another place for you to work, you must have earning much as you do, but if not if they have the salary range, then it should be according to what you think is fair and which is by laws. I have been also a designer from web design gold coast company base in Australia, during my first term as web designing artist, I was given fair salary and it increases years by years.

Your salary seems very low, based on your experience and creativity you should be getting a minimum of 6K as a basic salary.

You've got 2 options...

1. Leave the company

2. Do not leave the company

ok ... assuming you chose option no. 01

you've got to be ready with another option, another branch to hold on to; weather it be another job in Qatar or your homeland back in the Phils ... If you've got an offer from Qatar; don't make any silly moves like blasting your bosses head off for not paying you the salary you feel you are worth. You need to be fully confident about the fact that you will receive release from your present employer.

Now ... assuming you chose option no. 02

In this case you have to be happy with what you've got. Be patient, gain experience, think about the things like "How much will I earn back home" etc ... try to motivate your self and don't hang out with people who demotivate you ...

This is the best I could do... let me know what happens ... you can PM me if you like and I'll try to help as much as I can.... :)

Oh yaaa ... one more thing ... if what you are getting right now is what you have agreed to ... then you've got no say at 'Labour ...'. You can forget about visiting them coz that could even get you into trouble.... You don't want that ... would you?
